Cart question

Hey all,

Ive only been vaping about a week. Im currently refilling bloog carts with fusion 555. I used to smoke a little over a pack during my 8 hour tour at work.

Currently 4 or 5 carts get me through my shift and i vape for a decent part of the night. Is this the "normal" amount of carts i should be going through in 8 hours? Am i possibly under filling them?

Depends on how you vape.
Tipically, 2 cartos should be about the same as a pack, but it's not scientific.
There are a lot of factors involved, such as different nicotine abortion ratios with cigarettes and vapor.

Thru my experience converting people here in my town to vapors, yes like pmos said it depends on HOW you vape.
But going thru 4-5 cartos in a day compared to a pack of analogs, I would first question if you are using the right strength.
Vaping that much could mean you aren't getting the amount of nicotine your body was used to before.

What brand were you smoking before and what strength cartos did you get??? This will help figure out if you are in the right neighborhood.

I smoked Marlboro lights (still have one when i wake up can't seem to kick that one) and i am currently using 24mg juice.

While vaping I hit the 5 second cut off every time and will vape for best guess 5 to 8 minutes at a stretch. Wait maybe 5 minutes and then start the cycle again.

My main concern is that after about 15 minutes I start to get the taste of "cart" off and on and most of the flavor is gone. (555) But at the same time I still get tons of vapor. Still scratching my head.

I just got some pre-filled carts 5 minutes ago in the mail. I'll see what kind of results i get tonight at work with the pre-filleds.

That will be an interesting experiment, Slappy. My hunch is that you are underfilling.

1 pack of MB lights vs 4/5 cartos of 24mg juice?
1 pack of MB lights contains 20x0.5 = 10mg of nicotine.
4 cartos of 24mg e-liquid (with say, 0.7ml of liquid in them) contain 0.75*4*24 = 72mg of nicotine. That's a lot.
Either you're filling them very wrong or you're consuming a lot more nicotine than before.
If it's being absorbed at the same ratio is another issue.

Slappy, no offense but if you've only been vaping for a week, and are already refilling, then odds are VERY high that you are still suffering from the learning curve. When you first start refilling you can expect to ruin a LOT of cartos. With time and practice, your results will be MUCH better. We only reccomend filling or refilling for more advanced users, and even then they should expect the same learning curve.

Way back when, when I first started using V9 type cartos, I couldn't get refilling to work right either. I almost gave up on it, but then bit by bit I got better results. And then, when the KR8 cartos came out, I had to go through the same exact learning curve again on those. And I still to this day can't say exactly WHAT I was doing wrong; I just got bad results, which bit by bit got better.

I agree with you 100% that ive got a learning curve ahead of me. Im gonna stick with it and hopefully ill get the hang of it.




I got my pre-filled carts in the mail today before bed. (i work last out). While at work 1 pre-filled cart lasted me three hours. I then switched to my refilled cart. That lasted a half hour till i started to taste "cart". Out the window it went (literally).
I then switched back to a new pre-filled cart. Still going for about an hour now.

The cart i refilled i tried dripping. 20 drops exactly. Back to the drawing board.

I think im definately getting more nicotine now compared to when i was using analogs. I do not believe that my body is absorbing the whole 72mgs. I would take a wild guess and say maybe two thirds. Im definately more amped up with my current intake vs analogs.

Do some experiments. That's how you'll learn.
Overfill some cartos while still counting the drops and observing how the filler looks and how fast/slow it absorbs the e-liquid. You'll get a handle on the process and a feel for the limits in no time.
You'll just waist some liquid while learning.

20 drops isn't enough. Cartos also take some time to really fully saturate and "feed" the wick.

If I want to fill a carto and vape it right away, I use the bottom-fill condom method (fill the plain/mouthpiece-end condom half way....."drops" are hard to gage, as every bottle seems to put out different sized drops. With some brands, 14 drops gets half-way.....some, it takes 20).

Then I remove the plain condom, and replace it with the plug-condom. Top off the carto with the drip method at the top. 4-5 drops....spin it in a battery pouch, and then top off again. If it's really thick juice, I do two spins and three top-offs.

Remove the plug-end condom, blow into a tissue and pat the battery end dry. This should give you a nice, full, readily vapeable carto. Good luck!

Slappy was referring to RE-filling a used carto, and for that I do actually recommend 20 drops as a good average.

That's a very good opoint, and one that I neglected in my video. Yes, drops do vary in size from bottle to bottle. I was referring to the number of drops from a Bloog bottle. We use an eyedropper tip that is a fairly standard size in this industry, but not universal. So the number of drops my vary with some brands. Especially the ones that come in glass bottles with eyedroppers in the cap. Those have much bigger drops.

Yesterday I did have some better results. I dripped about twenty drops and after each one I spun the cart several times in my hand. I think it lasted a lot longer than previous attempts.

The real test is seeing how long a cart will last at work so gotta wait a few days to implement.

If you have Bloog batteries, you should have some of those black velvet pouches. You can use those, but if not, even a plastic baggie will do. You put the carto in (battery end down), and spin it for a few seconds. The centrifugal force brings the juice down to the coils and forces it into the polyfill. (be sure to have the rubber end cap with the spike inside inserted in the battery end before spinning)

Or, you could shake it, like a thermometer (battery end out, holding the mouthpiece end), but this isn't quite as effective.

Wow. That is a great idea (Taryn spin).

Just my luck that my kit (mini pcc starter kit) when i got it last week didn't come with the battery pouches. I thought I would never need them so I didn't worry about it at the time but i'm kicking myself now.

I just saw a video for using a clothes hanger for the spin gonna try and make it now.

Thank you, i'm super excited to try this. I feel like im 8 years old and it's christmas morning!! lol
