I was thinking and I almost can't believe I have not seen any mention of this yet.

As a smoker, I always held my cigarette between my lips start to finish. I like to have my hands free and discovered that a manual button was actually quite an inconvenience for me. So I have come up with a solution, I am going to be work on it as soon as I find the time but I wanted to bring it up and see if anyone had any input or saw any flaws in my concept. I like my hands free but that doesn't mean all my fingers are occupied, but often one hand is holding my Kindle.

My plan is to make a pocketable or belt clip battery box, probably parallel 14500s since tha 2AA boxes are cheap and easy to get. I want to just put a long 2 conductor wire on it, probably 18ga or larger to reduce resistance loading, put a switch in the center of the wire and a battery connection on the end, I am thinking I will probably need some sort of small aluminum heat sink on the connector as well, then screw in a carto with a drip tip that is easy to hold in the teeth and just hold the switch in my hand with the Kindle and press it any time I want a hit.

Does this sound unreasonable? Am I missing anything?

Sounds like a good idea to me. You could use a MOSFET circuit on the remote switch. That way, you can place the switch conveniently with light wires running to the box and then have thicker wires running from the box to the atomizer. Takes all the heavy lifting off the switch and you can use a much smaller, more conveniently located switch.
