Hi everyone,
I think I am going to go with either a Provari or a ZMax stainless variable volt.
It seems as though the additional parts other than the body are sold alacarte from different makers.
I am not sure if I want to add a tank, a carto or a clearamizer to my new variable volt mod.
From what I understand a tank holds more juice than a carto but what is a clearamizer?
I understand that all of these different devices have different ohms of resistance. How do I know what ohm rating to get?
I was told that dual coil is for higher volts. Is the choice of volts subjective to an indeviduals own taste? Is that what they mean by sweet spot? What about drip tips. Do I also need one of those?

Thanks

Stu

I always recommend a new vaper get as many different "juice delivery systems" as they can afford, since each one has it own pros, cons and quirks. JDS are the devices like cartomizers, clearomizers, tanks, etc., that holds the juice and delivers it to the heating element where it is vaporized. Everyone has their own preferences, so trial and error to find works best for you is unavoidable.

Baditude has blog with a brief overview of some of the delivery systems available. I think you need to have 5 posts to read the blogs:

There is really not a right answer for that questions. The options are endless. But the 5 main ways are listed. Starting at 1 as beginner to 6 as advanced user.
1: clearomizers / vivi nova
2: cartomizer with tank ( boge x tank)
3: drip atomizer ( Cisco 510 or 306 )
4: atomizer tank (amp tank)
5: genesis rba ( did by metal madness vapors)
6: drip rba ( ithakA by Gg or Prometey by art of exhale

To be quite honest, that is the order I went through. Learned alot along the way. But # 4 and #6 is by far my fave. Good luck !

As a relatively new vaper-er, I found that while Clearos were easy-peasy, they lack flavor. All I ever tasted was plastic.
I found that carto-tanks were just as easy (thanks to everyone who told me to look up the carto condom method of filling) and you dont have some other 'dry burn' taste like clearos or just using cartos alone.

The Zmax is variable watt which is nice because it is "set & forget" as it will automatically adjust the power level as you vape to maintain your settings.

I would also suggest starting out with a cartomizer with a tank. If you try 1.5 - 1.8 ohm dual coil cartomizers, you will need to up your wattage level. Most vets vape these in the 11.5 - 12 watt range. As a comparison point, if using a 2.8 - 3.0 ohm single coil cartomizer, most vape these in the 7.5 - 8.0 watt range.
