Carto help - what am I doing wrong now? Dormouse anyone???

Just got the boge cartos - I took off both plastic caps and dropped some juice in the top. Seems like the carto was absorbing it - next thing i know it's leaking out the bottom.

Is this what it's suppose to do? When I attached the carto to the battery it still comes out the side. Am I missing something? Why is it leaking straight through?

It sounds like you overfilled it. It happens to the best of us! Just blow out the excess or dab it onto a paper towel until nothing else comes out of it. If you put it on before you do this, it'll leak out of the sides.

Yup, that is how I know when my carto is full. I slowly drip down the sides and when a drop comes out the bottom, it is full. You just over filled it.

I think you need to fill it with the cap on the bottom. Then let it sit for a few minutes.
That's what I've been doing, but still a few drops leak out after I take the cap off.

You need to blow it out into a paper towel. I blow from the mouth side (others say thread side). You should be able to see through the carto. It has a hole in the middle that the vapor flows through.

I always fill the carto until it drips out. then a quick blow to clear the middle, and good vaping.

edit: BTW always let the carto sit for 15 minutes the first time you fill. This lets the juice soak into the fibers, and helps with a cleaner burn. After first time, just a few drops around the edge until it is full. Then blow, and ready.

You should be able to put about 30 drops in at least. Shake it like a thermometer. If it's completely absorbed, add some more. Just don't drip directly down the center.

This is how I fill them.

I carefully pop out the white cap with an unbent paper clip, being careful not to catch anything under the cap. While you are filling a blank carto you need to hold something against the bottom hole or if the carto came with a tiny plug for the bottom you can put that in and the threaded and condom. I just hold a tissue against the threaded end hole. Shake your eliquid too.

Then you need to put in 18+ drops into the stuffing (approx min number of drops to equal 1ml since they are 1ml cartos) - tilt the carto and take your time. You can rotate the carto to drip juice on different areas of stuffing. Avoid dripping juice down the middle. Very very thin juice like 100% PG will try to leak out the most. I use 70% or 80% PG juices. When done making 18+ drops go in, clean it up. Dry the threaded end enough to put your mouth on it then tilt the open and down into the tissue and puff into the threaded end to clear the central air channel. You want to see light through there. Use a folded tip of tissue to clean up and losoe juice above the stuffing (if you don't, it will end up on your battery or in your mouth). When done cleaning cap it and lay it on different sides for 15-20 min to settle it and spread juice around so every bit of stuffing can absorb some juice. (longer if you are using thicker juice than I use). Then use it.

I do not use condom method, I don't spin to force more juice in. I just fill them as intended. I am very careful but occasionally I do get a small leak, especially with a more vertical and hold like I do with Riva. I try to hold the ecig more horizontal when vaping a carto that just had juice added. if you have auto batteries or particularly large drops you could try just using 16 drops to fill a blank but don't skimp on that settling period.

I use boge lr cartos all the time. I fill them with drops down the inside of the carto just like pouring a beer. Now when I have some in use, I always let them set on a paper towel overnight for the juice to be completely absorbed. I've been studying cartos for a while and even though they are full, there are still dead spots in the filler. It takes time for the juice to wick all the way through. When it does, topping them off is no sweat. So even after an hour or so, the vape may be thin at best until the juice completely wicks in the carto.

Y'all are great. I was so excited to get my carto's today that I just opened one up, dropped about 6 drops and then it started running through the hole. So now I've got it filled with juice sitting overnight.

Excellent safe method with minimum if any juice wasted. Same one I use. With practice you will be able to fill quickly and without losing any juice through the bottom. Just in case I always put a condom on the bottom when I fill/refill.

I also use the Bogoe cartos. The first fill is the most difficult as the filler does not want to absorb liquid when dry. I do my initial fill on a new/dry carto with a syringe, 1ml with the threaded end plug in place. I put the needle about halfway down in the carto along the side in several places to ensure that all of the filler is saturated. After the first fill, liquid will be readily absorbed and I simply drip down the side of the carto with it held at an angle until the liquid appears to saturate the entire carto.

I use the Dormouse method since I have found it the best. The key is not to hurry the process. I start with four drops in each third of the carto. I let it it sit for a few and go back and do it again with two. I usually lose a drop or two on the second fill out the end. If none comes out, I add a few more drops.
