I ordered a Kgo starter kit from Virgin Vapor ... it looks lovely & sleek ... not sure if it is considered a 510 or what , but the cartos that came with it are empty ( and with no instructions for filling ) and I tried the method of filling by carto cap ( the " condum" I learned it is called !) ie : dropping the juice into the condum until 3/4 full and then inserting slowly the carto until juice is absorbed ... I vaped a bit after doing this ... nice hit for a first try I think ... but ... I have no idea how many drops this particular carto should hold ... I think it took about 8 the first time , then I soaked it again in the condum , thinking I hadn't put enough in the first time as the vape was thinning out ... now I am waiting an hour to let it really absorb before vaping again ... so my questions are ... how many drops should this type of carto hold ( and what type of carto is this ? ) and can it be filled with this # of drops @ one go ... and how many times can I refill or top off this carto before discarding ? I also purchased some Boge LR cartos but thought I should practice first on the ones that came in the starter kit ... would the same filling procedure apply to the Boge cartos too ? I did watch a few videos here that some friendly vapors directed me to but again without knowing the capacity of the cartos I have am not sure how much juice to put in ... also ... with a drip tip & a Boge LR ... does one drip through the tip or directly onto the bridge in the atty or what ? Can one also drip the juice into the carto by saturating the filler ? I know I am asking a lot of questions here and I appreciate any answers that come my way ... really ...am so excited to get going and get it right ! I did look around the forum here first before posting but didn't come across what I am specifically asking ...thx so much for any and all help !:toast:

I just recently bought the KGO starter kit. The starter kit (at least mine) didnt come with cartomizers. It came with 2 atomizers and 6 cartridges.

The cartridges I just drip it full and let it sit a couple of minutes. Then I top it off where it puddles on the top a little bit. I put the cartridge on the atomizer and stand the kgo on end with the mouth piece pointing straight up. I'll let it sit there for a few minutes to let the bridge of the atomizer to get soaked, then vape away.

The Boges are cartomizers, and I feel (IMO) the best way to fill cartos is with a syringe. You don't waste a drop and easy peasy at that. Theres plenty of videos to show you the syringe method.

THX kidbeaster ... are you liking the Kgo so far ?
I am loving it but I fear I am abusing it a bit ... I have been vaping way more than I have ever smoked !
I dripped direct on the bridge ... but not into the cartridges ... my kit came with the same ... I just ordered the Boge cartomizers on the side ... tried them tonight ... think I like the atty better , with dripping ... but this is my 1st day @ it ... what do I know ?! ... I just was so reluctant to start this morning ... not knowing what to do at all re: the filling & all ... hope you are enjoying vaping ... I love it and will never go back to analogs I believe ... what a vape junkie already I have become ! :)

How to fill a Carto

First, Take the silicone condom off the end of the carto with the white top. Leave the condom on the threaded end. Then take off the white top of the carto. If you have a syringe,(18ga.) load it with 1ml of liquid, 1.5 for DCs’, and slide the needle down the side of the carto and fill from the bottom . A few more drops from the bottle until the top of the filling starts to look “slushy”. If you don’t have a syringe, just slowly drop drop drop about 20-40 drops. (drop sizes vary, 1.0 ml is the target) Let the drops go down the side of the carto, constantly turning it, not into the hole in the middle. Every 10 drops or so it may help the flick the carto like you would a thermometer to force the liquid to the bottom of the carto. Continue until the top of the filling is “slushy” and the juice stops absorbing into the filler. If you have a drip tip, throw away the white end cap thingy and use the drip tip, otherwise pop the white thingy back in place to vape and then get online and order some pretty drip tips.
I know it may seem complicated, but it really is not

One more thing. Don't vape too long without topping off the carto or you will burn it. You'll get a feel for when you need to top off, (too warm, dry or reduced flavor) but until you do, do it often. If the filler is white, top off. If it takes more than 10 drops to get that slushy look on the filler, you may have waited too long.

Typically, people can run about 30ml of juice through carto, longer if you are using clear PG juices, and less time if you are using dark VG juices.? I also purchased some Boge LR cartos but thought I should practice first on the ones that came in the starter kit ... would the same filling procedure apply to the Boge cartos too Yes. Condom method, syringe, or dripping.? I did watch a few videos here that some friendly vapors directed me to but again without knowing the capacity of the cartos I have am not sure how much juice to put in You will get a feel for it very quickly. ... also ... with a drip tip & a Boge LR ... does one drip through the tip or directly onto the bridge in the atty or what ? You can remove the drip tip or leave it on. It's personal preference. Yes, drip directly on the bridge. Can one also drip the juice into the carto by saturating the filler Overfilling a carto will flood it. You can use a carto as a dripper by removing the polyfill and diaper and dripping 2-3 drops between the wick tube and wall.? I know I am asking a lot of questions here and I appreciate any answers that come my way ... really ...am so excited to get going and get it right ! Answers in red.

I just want to clarify some of the terminology, even though kidbeaster already touched on it. What you received with your KGO was 2 atomizers, aka atty, and 6 cartridges, aka cart. The boges you bought are cartomizers, aka carto. I just wanted to add the abbreviations to clarify.

HAVE FUN!

You can also use a syringe to fill a carto and personally I think its hands down the quickest and easiest way to fill a carto. Using a syringe takes all the guesswork out of filling and ensures they are filled correctly.

I also recommend trying the Ressurector cartos. They are designed for 3.7V PVs and work awesome on the kGo. They are 1.7ohm and hold 2ml of juice so they last a long time before you need to refill

Hi all who responded to my initial question ... thx a whole bunch !
I haven't been here for a while ... been busy ... and have become in the meantime a little savier with the vaping since then ... though still have a ways to go ... am loving the vaping though think I am over vaping @ times since the darn juice tastes so good ! One more question ... where to get a sryringe ? I picked up a plastic one from a pharmacy but it is too wide to do any good ...has no metal needle bit to it ... doing OK with bottle droppers dripping into carto though would like a quicker fill ... I am loving the Virgin Vapors organic VG juices but am wondering if even these could be a bit " harmful " in some way to one's health ? Anyone know of any studies done on the health impact of vaping ? I know it is a relatively new thing and I haven't come across anything but sometimes I feel headachy etc from the vaping ... am I OD ing ?! Thx again all ... so good to not be smoking anymore but I fear I have now a new addiction to eventually wean off of :)

Hi & Welcome to ECF! For syringes &/or needles, if there is a farmer's co-op in your area that's probably the best source. What you'll need for a needle is an 18, 16 or even 14 gauge (thick!) and about 1.5" long. Such things are generally used for veterinary purposes... the VG liquid is especially thick so a heavy-gauge needle is required, such as is (fortunately) seldom necessary for meds administered to us humans. You may already know this, but get needles & syringes with Leur lock connections & they'll be interchangeable. (I think I spelled 'Leur' right).

If you begin to feel buzzed or start getting a headache you might need to take a brief break from vaping or reduce your nic level a bit, but generally I just pay attention to what my body tells me (well, I *should* do this; sometimes I do, sometimes I don't, but you should too ;) ) Also, vaping dehydrates us so we all should drink lots of water, whether I do or not. (I'm told I am not allowed to count all the coffee I drink as "water", even though I know for a fact it is over 75% water. Not fair.)

As to the health hazards of vaping, I believe there are stickies to cover this a lot better than most of us out here, but to my way of thinking & from what I've read, (a) Nobody's Gettin' Outta This Life Alive! and (b) Few things would be more annoying than to die from something that was no fun to begin with. So I figure unless I develop a heart condition or something, vaping will probably remain one of the less hazardous things I've done for recreation. If it kills me it will only probably be because the Lord is full of Mercy.

Worry not, & Happy Vaping! :vapor:
