Hey friends. I have been using the same ikenvape 801 fusions in a phiniac on the same device at the same voltage/wattage... everything has been peachy for a couple months... and suddenly, my cartos are becoming absolutely flooded...

I have been using the same liquids... drilling the same sized holes (I think)

Does this even make sense?

The only thing different is I lost one inner o-ring on my top cap... but I don't see how that would affect anything.

I even resorted to drilling one hold instead of two... thinking this might help...

anyway, when the cartos start flooding... what do you suggest? Drilling smaller holes?

Thanks, LT

ps: I switched to one of those super long super-T drip tips... and this at least keeps the juice out of my mouth.

Inner o-ring you say? I'm not familiar with the Phiniac tank. You say "I lost one inner o-ring on my top cap"... does that mean there are two? If there's only one, then by not having any, you have no vacuum in the tank to prevent/reduce flooding. If you normally have one, and now have two, then depending on o-ring fit, there is a lack of stability and possible compression and subsequent seal of the single o-ring... so again, you have no vacuum in the tank to prevent/reduce flooding.

Replace the o ring. State explained it well. Phinac should have some available for sale. I have a couple of Phiniacs but just got them. Looks like one of them on the top cap.
Thanks Susie Q. Never seen a Phiniac cap, so not a clue on o-ring count. I've never seen a two o-ring cap, but no reason not to think they don't exist... even though I can't imagine why they would. ;-)

there's an o-ring on the inside and outside of the top cap... the tank isn't leaking at all, but the carto is flooding

Yes, what state o flux said. If the tank isn't sealed to the carto, no vacuum in the tank and liquid seeks its own level .... Even though it's not leaking juice, air can get in and flood city. The tank is sort of like a straw with your finger on the end of it; take your finger off the end of the straw and the liquid runs out.

IBTanked has two on each endcap, and inner one and an outer one.

It was late, and I didn't read this as well as I could have last night. In my experience, cartos flood when they are filled too much or if you suck too hard (same effect as filling too full).

Is the juice high in PG (making it thinner than VG)? I have been using my Phiniac all day with a 2-hole punched carto with 80PG/20VG juice and am not experiencing any issues.

I buy prepunched carto and leave them as they are. Drilling them out more would allow more juice into the carto.

That's all I got.

I think the above folks have solved your problem, and I agree.

The point now comes up why did the o-ring blow out? Are you using a tank tool? These protect the inner o-rings from excessive wear & tear from adding/removing the carto. Phiniac sells the Siam Mods version for pretty cheap, and I do own one. But honestly the ones with the shape of the Slap Yo Moma tank tool are much better designed and easier to use. Well worth the extra few bucks. Not only do these tools protect the o-rings, but they make instaling the carto and refilling the tank SO much faster and easier. The most handy tool that I've ever purchased by far.

Of course I have that combo drip tip/tank tool because I got one with each of my IBTanks (running count number at 12). It does what it is supposed to do, but I still prefer using the Slap You Moma by far. I misplaced my SYM for a few days and panicked, as I am so dependent upon it. Ordered a second one along with the little case now being offered so that I won't lose it. Ended up finding the original one, so now I have two. I sleep better now. ;)

Rarely will you find a combination device that works great for two different applications. I don't particularly like the IBTanked tool as a drip tip nor as a tank tool. Guess I'm picky that way.

I don't own one, but by the looks and the design of the tool sold by Valley View Vapes, it might be better than the SYM, and for a cheaper price, too.

Baditude, what do you think of the tool that Ibtanked sells? It looks like the Slap Yo Mama tool but cheaper. That's what I have been using.

As Bad said, it works as advertised. If it works for you and you're happy with it I don't see any reason for you to get a different tank tool. Kind of one of those what you don't know wont hurt you kind of things.

With that said I use the tank tool from Valley View Vapes (you can also get it at avidvaper for more money, but possibly faster shipping). The only real difference is that the "neck" or middle diameter is thinner. It just makes the filling process a little easier. Other than that they work and perform exactly the same.

Hopefully, replacing the o-ring does the trick. If not, has the temperature in your neck of the woods been higher than normal? I ask, because I noticed I get some flooding in my Smok cartos when the temp is in the 90s. The two running theories when I posted about the issue are that either the heat thins the juice or the heat causes the air in the tank to expand which results in a flooded carto.
