There is a real good chance your center pin gasket is compressed so much that some of your cartos are not making contact .Send it to me I will replace it . I see this with cartos from time to time rarely with atomizers . In a pinch you can snug your carto down then back off a quarter turn push the center pin up from the inside of the mod and snug the carto back down or like washvap explained you can pull the center pin out a little on the carto . Only try this with the carto on the mod. A gasket in a electronic cigaret is only about 1/16 there is very little room there .It doesn't take long if a person is over tightening atomizer - cartos to compress it to a point there is no longer any spring in the gasket

Thanks for jumping in here Rob. I would like to say that I am not a carto masher. I only twist them until snug. I only forced that one as a last resort and it still didn't make contact. Now, I used that 2nd carto all last evening with an adapter and it worked perfectly but I don't want to have to use an adapter so this morning I tried another new shorty carto without the adapter and it is working perfectly. So, IMO some of these cartos work on the 18490 and others don't but the ones that don't will work on other mods even on my other Woodvil's. So, knowing all of this, do you think I need to send it in or do you think that the cartos are the problem? Please don't say I need to send it in. The 18490 is my favorite Reo. :)

I just, past week or so, burnt up a perfectly working IKV LR Mini 801 and collapsed a spring on an 801 Woodvil. Hard to burn up an 801. The button was sticking so when I put the battery in it started firing and I didn't know it was happening until the battery fell out. I didn't have time to get the door on. AND, yes, the collapsed spring was bright orange!!!!!!!

I had to pop the button out and then realized that I had gotten Howard's in there, it had congealed, and wasn't allowing the button action to work properly.

Moral is that it is possible to get some gunk in the button. This was a Woodvil, with the big button, which is more likely for this to happen with. AND the Howards got in there because I literally soaked the Woods in a big bowl.

I would expect, though, that the new button style, on the smaller Woodvils would be less susceptible to the kind of sticking that the big button on Woodvil can do.

Feisty Alice

Thanks Alice but I have never had any problems with any of my Woodvils continue to fire for a second after releasing the button and it's not doing that now with this 3rd shorty carto. As far as soaking the Reo in wax, I don't do that. I rub it on and am careful not to get too much around the switch. The switch is fine and so far I'm not having any problems at all with this 3rd shorty carto. I welcome any and all suggestions though.

Its totally up to you .I have had a few cartos do this on my woodvil .When your ready send it in I can fix it easy enough .Even if you were a master carto masher  I would just fix it and keep shucking mods
You shouldn't need a adapter to use your cartos. When its convenient send it in pm me tell me its coming I will get it back in the mail the same day if possible

Thanks Rob. I know you can fix it but I just hate to part with it, you know. :) I don't have any problems with Boges or resurrectors so I'm just going to stick with those on the 18490. I've never had a threading problem with those and I really like those cartos. The problem is the threads on these shorty cartos. Some thread ok and some don't. I've tried 5 of them now and found one that didn't thread smoothly on my mini Woodvil also. So the ones that don't thread well on my Woodvils will be used on other mods. It's too bad though because they are too small to use on any other mod because you have to keep topping them off. They are perfect for the Reos when they thread smoothly. I will send it in though if I have any problems with the Boges. Again, thank you.
