I am using 1.7Ω super shortie Res. on both my mini and 18490 metal. The carto on the mini stays pretty cool while vaping, but the carto on the 18490 starts getting really warm, if not a little hot after 3-4 hits. Was wondering why.
The carto on the mini meters 1.9Ω, and the carto on the 18490 meters 1.5Ω. Did this just answer my question as to why?
Until I metered them I thought it might be due to the 18490 IMR Batt hitting at a higher voltage longer than the 14500 IMR did.

I think the 1.5 to 1.9 difference might be the cause. I have not used the shortys, but have noticed more heat in the cartos I use when the juice is lower.

When I first read this, and really fast, I was wondering how you measured carto ohm rating on your device but now I see that you were referring to two different cartos. So glad you got it resolved.

I just took the carto off the mini, squonked it up good first, and put it on the 18490, much better. So it seems it is the .4Ω difference that's doing it. I thought I was getting more vapor off the 18490 also. It's no problem, just can't do any real serious vaping with 1.5Ω.

DH and I, and I'm sure many others, notice a big difference if the ohm is more or less 0.02-0.03 difference. I do well with 1.5 attys for most of our juices but they are too hot for DH. Just moving up to 1.7 or 1.8 makes all the difference in the world for him. For both of us 2.0 and above just doesn't do it; too cool. That is using a 3.7v battery unregulated.
