Da South!
What is the substance used to wrap the coil and keep it away from the filler? I think people call it a diaper lol. And were can one purchase said substance? I really like my vision stone, but don't really like the idea of inhaling the dust from the silica wick I have. My throat was starting to get a touch irritated from it so I switched to cartos. I tried a natural fiber wick...which worked pretty good..but blegh...nasty undertaste. So I set there thinking, if I can get the stuff they wrap carto coils in, wrap that around my natural fiber, and then wrap the coil around that...I can use my stone!

I can't say for Every Carto but I think what you are referring to is Woven Aramid Fibers.

Right now I'm vaping on my CE2 re-wicked with rolled cotton (basically cotton ball cotton). As long as it's wet with juice, no burning whatsoever. Cotton wicks much better than the polyfil, so I'd think any juice left in the carto would find it's way to the cotton.

Personally, I've vaped about 5mLs through a regular, polyfilled carto; so haven't had much experience with them.

Plain cotton? Wouldn't that burn? I mean I know all of them get a bit scorced over time...but I would think that a cotten diaper would fall apart in no time! Woven Aramid Fibers...a high-heat poly....that sounds about right..

JSYK...

Aramids are a Family of Heat Resistant fibers. Some might be Good Candidates for a Carto and some Might not.

Have you tried doing a Google search for "Pure Woven Silica" or "Pure Silica Cloth"?

Ah...I'm not talking about the poly fill. I'm talking about the small sheet of material wrapped around the coil...it keeps the poly from touching the coil.

Locke, I was just passing on info that had been posted elsewhere and giving my perspective on why the diapers, if they are cotton, wouldn't immediately burn up. I mentioned polyfill only in the context that if the diapers are cotton, they would wick juice out of the polyfill very easily.
