hey guys ive been vaping for almost 2 months and am just now trying cartos. i got them from altsmoke and they are 510 threaded. now i saw how to do the carto condom fill method which is what i tried and im still getting a little bit of a burnt taste and im looking at the polyfill and it still looks dry to me. im going to put some more fluid in through the top until its wet but if this is just me underfilling the carto please let me know. im a dripper normally so if this is also just me not used to the taste of filler anymore please also let me know. thanks guys in advance

i've found that the condom method is good if youre in a hurry but generally provides mediocre results.

i use this method and it hasn't failed me yet-

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...scussion/136226-new-carto-filling-method.html

i drip, flick, drip, flick, drip, flick. its a process and takes a couple minutes but i haven't lost a carto yet and they last me quite a while before i have to refill. its using physics to propel the juice into the bottom of the carto, the condom method just seems to fill it half way at most.

I feed my cartos through the battery end with no problems. I do it a drop at a time, and it takes me maybe 45 seconds. If the last drop doesn't get absorbed, I just wipe it off w/ a kleenex. I then blow through the battery end w/ the tissue underneath in case I overfilled. It gets any excess out. After two weeks of doing this, I am a pretty good judge of what is enough. This is quick & easy, and I think the carto gets a better fill.

Me too. After trying syringes, the condom fill method, and the Taryn spin, I've found that this is the easiest, cleanest, and least wasteful method for me.

I use the plug that comes in the liquid x cartos in the threaded end. I plug it into the threaded end then fill the carto with fluid to the very top. I let it stand for about five minutes while I get ready in the morning. When I come back it's all sucked into the cotton. Then I drop two or three more drops into the poly fill then replace the rubber cap. That's my morning ritual for the past two months with my three low resistance cartos that I carry in my T-Wicked Pcc. Those three take me through the day, most of the time. LOL

I think this is the ONLY method I never tried. I think I'm having a hard time comprehending HOW it goes into the filler this way. I know there's a hole in the battery end and that hole goes into "nothingness" if it's upside down, doesn't it? Or it would drip onto the little white rubber stopper at the mouthpiece, wouldn't it? Or is there a space between the hole and the threads where there is filler that sucks it up? Thanks for clarifying!

Maybe you've ruined this carto? I drip liquid in til it's saturated, give it a good spin, drip some more, spin some more. When it starts leaking out the battery end, you know there's enough in there. At least that's my experience. Maybe you should try with a new carto and see if you get that same "taste" you're referring to. If so, then it's probably the taste of the juice in your cartos you do NOT like!

I have only used cartos, since I started my vaping journey....until three days ago. I wanted to experience
atomizers and dripping..
A quick review of what I have learned is this.
Taste better in dripping/atomizers, but ALOT of trouble and time consuming for me.

Cartos do not give the flavor that the dripping did and if you do burn one the burnt flavor may not leave!
You need to get another carto and try again, to see if that burnt taste is still there.
Also, a good tip...is to fill a couple cartos....let them SIT for a few hours. (mine sit overnight)
The juice seems to wick down alot better for me.
The condom method works...BUT I DO NOT USE ON A NEW CARTO! For me, it does not get the
juice down to the bottom as needed.

All this is such a trial and error thing. I ruined a few cartos the first week, learning what is not enough.
You can recover from too much liquid, but cannot from not enough and you have burnt the filling.

All this, just my opinion and what has and has not worked for me.
Good Luck and keep on trying!

Thanks TexasGranny! I have just been getting into cartos as I am so sick of the leaks from cart/atty set up and topping off all the time. Have tried them all, PTB and blue foam and still leaks and tastes yucky alot of the time. Tried dripping too, but that's only good at home. LOVE using cartos, so much easier when I'm so busy or at work. I'm surprised at how long a cartomizer lasts through refills too.
