I know this has been asked a thousand times before, so I apologize but I couldn't find the threads. My 74 year old dad has finally decided to try vaping because Mom's cardiologist thought she was still smoking. I'm going to give him my old ego gear and the associated paraphernalia, but I don't know what topper to get. I've decided on carto rather than clearo tanks for consistency, but don't know which one. I need something he isn't gonna have to screw with much and has a nice big hole for filling. Recommendations anyone?

I fill mine with Boba's Bounty all the time right out of the bottle. You just have to push it in to the thinnest part of the tool.

You and I are talking about 2 different tools I think you are talking about a variant of the slap you mama which works fine. I was talking about another sort that pushes in and has holes on the sides you fill inside the tool and the juice is supposed to go out the holes into the tank. Never worked for me.

I recommend an IBTanked pyrex cartotank and a Slap Yo Moma tank tool from Big Daddy Vapor. The Slap Yo Moma tool allows for more room to add liquid to the tank than the combination tool that IBTanked sells.

Oh... I know what tool you are talking about. i never tried that one, but I know the IBTanked one that looks like the slap your mama tool works well.

Baditude, out of interest why not the tool that you can buy with the IB Tanks for putting the cartos in? Just wondered if I am missing out on another gadget:D
Both tools serve the same purpose. However, the OP's father is elderly and may have poor eyesight. The IBTanked tool is wider in diameter than the Slap Yo Moma tool, as it doubles as a drip tip, so it takes up more space in the hole of the end cap where you add e-liquid. The Slap Yo Moma tool is much slimmer and allows more space to add the e-liquid, so in this situation its a better choice.

Which is why I did not recommend the tank refiller drip tip. It is yet another variant on the same theme as slap you mama but it doesn't narrow nearly as much.

I use 50/50 juices and that thing does not work at all for me. Surface tension on the thick juice prevents it from running down into the tank.

Works fine for me.

You just have to be sure you are running the liquid down the side of the tool and GO SLOW. If you go slow, the air gap will stay open and let you fill it right up to the top (though I recommend leaving a little air in the tank)

No no we are talking 2 different tools. You are talking about a variant of the slap yo mama tool. Which works great.

I was referring to this thing which has never worked for me Quick Look: DCT Filling Tool Makes Carto Tank Filling a Snap

I used that dct filling tool for a while. For me the trick to that one was to hold it at a bit of an angle, and pour juice in slow. That way, I had liquid running down trough one of the two holes, while air came out the other one. This helped prevent the vapor lock that would otherwise result in a real mess... Not as handy as a slap yo momma type, or even the drip tip one sold by Ibtanked, but workable. Honestly, I found it best to not use a tool for filling, just push the tool down after filling to mate up with the carto to spare the o rings when re seating the carto.
