Carto vs. Cartridge

I've noticed people using "cartos" which I'm assuming means cartomizer. Well, I just ordered a Joye 510 yesterday and it comes with 5 empty cartridges so I'm wondering what is the difference between the two? And will I need a carto for my 510, or is that for the more advanced set ups?

Cartomizer is the marriage of an atomizer and a cartridge into a single unit.
Your Joye 510 comes with the atomizer and cartridges separated. The atomizer holds the heating element(coil and wick) and the cartridge holds the ejuice by suspending it in a polyfill material and feeding the wick as needed when you vape.

Cartomizers(cartos) are much less fidgity and people tend to prefer them over the separate atty/cart setup, as they also seem to perform a little better.

cartridges hold only a few drops,, good for sampling new juices,,cartos hold 10 or more drops,depending on what you get

Yes it is, and once you try a carto you will throw the cartridges away. Save the atomizers tho', there are other ways to use them.

Cartomizers and carto tanks will work on your 510. One thing to keep in mind when buying cartos for your PV. They will have different resistance ratings and for your 510 I'd recommend staying at 2.5 ohm or higher. Low resistance cartos do not play well with the smaller batteries.

Agreed. The Joye 510 is what is considered a small batt (280 mah) and will be very stressed if you try to use anything lower than a 2.5 ohm cartomizer.

The cartos I recommended earlier are rated 2.6-2.8 ohm, and that is the sweet spot for the Joye 510, or any small batt for that matter.

I would highly suggest if your going to go with an atomizer for your 1st e-cig(which you are) do a little research on these forums about cleaning etc. This works great for me, you just need to be careful not to blow up the addy http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/69834-my-atty-resurrection-method.html I would do this 1st! before you even use them to get rid of primer. I had a major issue with primer taste when I 1st used an addy, and very little flavor from my juices. After I cleaned it, the flavor is better than carto's.

hi there. ive been vaping for about a month and as a newbie i find cartomizers much easier to begin with. i find atomizers and dripping more of a vetern type vape

Cartos are great for routine vaping, however, if you have analog cravings, having a cart of a higher nic can help you get over those moments. Both carts and cartos have very useful purposes. With experience, trial and error, you'll find what works for you and when.

Correct, "carto" is for cartomizer. Boge SR (standard resistance) carto's also work great with the battery you have. Just drp like 15 or so drops in the end, let it sit a bit and good to go! Keep in mind, if you decide to upgrade equipment in the future, you may need to also upgrade other components. (Battery/cartos). Happy vaping.

Y'all have definitely given me lots to think about... They haven't even shipped my kit yet and I'm already thinking about what else I should buy (I'm serious about giving up the analogs as y'all say ). I'm thinking a PCC or maybe a couple mega batteries (maybe both)? I think what I ordered only has the standard 180 mah with the kit... Then I was also thinking about the carts since they might be alittle easier to deal with... I am soooooo ready to get this kit!

Taste isn't the same on a carto as in a tank, but thats my opinion. A PCC with a 510 kit is almost a must if you were/are a heavy smoker/vaper. Otherwise you will run out very fast if you go out

I've seen the 510-Ts have a tank... I wouldn't be able to use one on mine, huh?

The T tanks had their place, but their time is in the history books now. Most of the time anymore when someone is mentioning tanks they mean carto tanks that a normal cartomizer fits inside of.
They look like this.

The juice is drawn into the carto through a hole that has been punched or drilled in the side of the carto every time you puff on it.

So you gotta buy the drilled cartos for it right? Or I'm sure u can do it yourself but I'm not that handy.
