Cartomizer drained battery in an "instant"

so of course I thought, hmmmm, bad battery. Put the cartomizer on a different recently charged batt....it was drained in 2 min.

What causes this? Exactly?

I would suspect a short in the cartomizer

Every vaper needs a volt-ohm meter. They are cheap and available at Walmart, auto parts stores, and places like Harbor Freight. Most ecig batteries flash 3 times when shorted by an atomizer. They don't drain, they just flash and refuse to apply voltage. Check the voltage of the battery without an atomizer to troubleshoot.

Thanks, I would need a photo of how/where to apply the contacts of the meter to the batt. Never done that before.

At any rate, a brand new cartomizer with a possible short in it......

Clean the threads (both sides). And yes... new can be bad. And yes... multimeter. There's little QC going on it seems......

Check the carto 1st. The contacts of the meter go on the carto. One on the center post, other on the threaded part. Doesn't matter which way... it's just a resistance wire. The ohms will be shown. Ohm symbol on the meter (if it has one) looks like an Omega Ω
