Been using the carto and love it, vaping bobas bounty. I know this is a thick liquid and can have its issues, but I wouldnt expect it after 1 days moderate use. I believe I have a cheap smok tank and I have used both a single punch and triple punch carto both with the same results. What seems to happen is it will hit great for 1-4 hits, and then become completely flooded until I let it all soak back in. I'm wondering, is this a tank pressure issue, or is the bobas? For the first 12 hours its beautiful and flawless, and then randomly every draw with completely flood this thing.

It is possible that your tank is not making a great seal around the carto messing up the air pressure inside the tank, allowing it to flood. A higher quality tank may solve this issue.

It may also be how you are drawing on the carto. Carto tanks work best with long slow drags. If you draw too hard you can pull juice into the carto faster than it can use it all. Then flooding.

Yeah, I do take long slow drags. With the seal you are talking about, does it need to be a airtight seal? I would think so because I dont want juice to leak, but at the same time I feel that the pressure just builds up within 1-2 draws and just sucks all the juice causing it to flood.

I used Smok tanks for over a year and a half, every now and then you get a bad carto, that's why I buy 20 at a time, if one goes wonky I just toss it, put a new one in and keep vaping. The locking UDT or Artimus tanks, I never did get to work right and gave up on them, the regular DCT tanks worked fine. I always use the 2 hole cartos from Hoosier Ecig, SmokTek or Mad Vapes, in single coil. I never use thick or dark liquids, I've used Dekang for over 4 years now and my cartos last me 2 to 3 weeks. I was given a couple of IBTanked tanks for my birthday and have switched to them completely, they just look so good on my mech mods.

I couldn't agree more. The only cartos that have flooded on me have been Smoktech 2 hole cartos. Aside from that like Bardic said there are duds time to time.

Hmmmm I've never used bobas, but I understand that it is VERY thick, so I would expect an issue with clogging or dry hits, rather than flooding. I'm wondering if you are correct that it may be a seal/pressure issue? I have several IBT and have never had any issues when using them. My cheapo tanks I've had problems, but again, usually dry hits rather than flooding. Dumb question, but have you blown the excess out and had it flood again?

In the personal experience within my house, my wife (who takes deep and straight to the lung draws) was able to flood any carto-tank that I put in front of her. The XXXL and Mega cartos? Not so much, but it was a matter of not oversaturating the polyfill so that her draw-method didn't have excess liquid to pull from the fill into the coil-space.

The workaround/solution (for her) was to go to a dual-top-coil clearomizer (the iClear 30S, emphasis on the S-variant). So far, no matter how deeply she draws, the design and wicking method prevent her from getting any gurgling or flooding. She likes the pivoting head, but wasn't a fan of metal (tends to hit her teeth and the reaction was not pleasant, almost like a visit to the dentist) so we stretched one of the rubber tips from those old Mega cartos over that tip and while it looks a little odd, it "works for her".

Additionally, I can treat the cartridges just like my cartos when it comes to cleaning and recycling them.

I can't remember ever having a flooded carto. Other person here in this house has them all the time.

Only difference is my e-liquid is clear, high PG. Their liquid is dark higher VG.

Only a sample size of two but it leads me to believe it might be the high VG liquid. Can you thin it a bit?

I have had a few smok tech single coil dual pre punched cartos flood on a quality tank.

One particular juice does it frequently, but it is a very thin juice, probably alot of distilled water. I even replaced the seals on the tank even though they looked pristine.

I switched to boges with that juice, 2 hole single coil, and so far have been good with that juice. Although I have had some dead boge cartos right out of the box. dead meaning, no draw was possible.

I have no problems typically with the smok tech cartos though when using a juice in the 50\50 range, up to 65pg/35vg or vice versa

I dont know if this information helps, but I figured I would share my experiences.

I've had it with the Smok double punches on a couple different IBT's. I just chalked it up to a bad draw since I was driving at the time & trying to sneak quick vapes while my attention was elsewhere. Maybe it is the Smok's though. It doesn't happen all that regularly though & IIRC it's been on different tank/carto sets. None seemed to be a chronic problem after I blew them out though.

skakid812, I don't understand. It floods and you let it 'soak back in' to fix it. What do you mean by soaking in? And when you say flood, do you get gurgling when you vape?
