Ok I have a question.. Dont laugh..
The reason you are told to drip is to stay out of the center Hole on the cart right? Well I dont get how then its ok to use the condom method? Pushing the cart down and forcing the liquid gets the center hole soaked does it not?
And droping a drop at a time through the metal bottom of the cart would also still get the center wet wouldn't it???:confused::confused: I read once to put a wire through the center hole.. well anything small enough to go through the bottom of the cart leaves the top part of the cart still open.(the middle cylinder...)
So what is it exactly we try to do or avoid when filling carts?
Please fill me in.. I must of missed something here .
Please input needed to figure it out..
Thanks...

I use the filling method described at the beginning of this video. It works pretty darn good for me. The only modification is that I do a Taryn Spin about every ten drops.

YouTube - Care And Feeding of Cartomizers Part 2

I started out doing condom fills because I thought it seemed easier, but I always ended up with a mouthful of juice, blowing excess juice out of carts, overfilling by accident, and in general wasting a lot of juice. Once cartos started coming with soft end caps instead of hard plastic caps with o-rings, I tried this dripping method and have had far greater success. I seldom overfill and don't end up wasting a bunch of juice that gets blown into a paper towel.

It's not really a problem to get juice in that center hole, you just have to have a way of getting it back out. Some use a Taryn Spin, others blow it out, others just allow the cartos to rest for a bit before vaping so the filler has time to soak up the juice. They all work. For my money, though, I think it's just easier to avoid that center hole altogether. Others use the condom fill regularly, with no problems, so obviously mileage will vary. Just do whatever works.

I like to keep it simple.

I pop off the mouth tip. Hold the carto at about 45 degrees and add juice 3 drops at a time along the edge of the carto. (The 45 degree thing lets air escape from the carto as it is being filled.). I do try to avoid the center hole but if I miss and get some juice gets in it, no big deal.

When I can see that the carto filling is saturated, I put the mouth tip back on and let it sit on it's side for about 5 minutes. Then I put a paper towel over the battery end and give it a gentle blow. Besure to clean the battery end if any juice comes out.

The only time I do put juice in the center hole is when I fill a brand new empty carto. One time I got some new flavored juice in the mail and wanted to try it right now. I filled a new carto and didn't wait 5 minutes or put any juice down the center hole.

When I took the first hit I didn't get any vapor so I took a HUGE second hit. Bad Mistake. Since the filling around the atomizer wire wasn't wet it burned the carto filling and I got a horrible taste of burned plastic. No amount of washing would remove it so I had to throw out the carto.

I think what you will find is that after you fill 6 or 7 cartos that you will get the fell for it. I've filled enough cartos that I can just look inside one and kinda tell just how juice it will take by how dry the filling material looks.

A standard rule I use though is:

If I can hear any gurggling when I draw on a refilled carto, then it is too full. It needs to be blown out via the paper towel method.

New Carts should be allowed to sit for AT LEAST 5 minutes to make sure they are saturated around the atomizer wire before I take the first hit.

It's better to refill them often that it is to vape them completly dry.

One last thing I'll mention is that you need a few basic tools, IMO, to fill cartos right. You need some kind of hook to pop of the mouth piece. ie: a piece of stiff wire with a right angle on the end, a dental pick, etc. You need some kind of small tray to fill them in so if juice does drip out it doesn't get all over your desk. I use a tip tray from a resturant. And you need some of the rubber "condom" ends that come with your cartomizers. Use them to keep refilled cartomizers from drying out when not in use. I like to cut the length down a bit to make them easier to get on and off the carto.

Once you get the hang of it, cartomizers are extremely cool and easy to fill and use. Hope this helps and let us know what other questions or problems you might be having.

Because when you remove the condom, the pressure takes the liquid out of the center hole in a cartomizer. Honestly I tried most of the refill techniques and I'm sure there was at one point some liquid in the center hole and I never found a problem with it, at worst you'll get a drop of liquid in your mouth, no biggie.

p.s. I fill only a third or a quarter of a condom and push it in the center hole of a carto, remove the condom, use a paper towel to clean the carto, then I don't wait, I don't do a taryn spin, I don't drip or anything fancy, it's fast, easy and works very well :)

I pop the top off like in the vid. I can better gauge how many drops I need with much less chance of over or under-filling just by observing the filler. The condom method works fine, but I think it is a bit messy (even if everything works great, you are guaranteed at least a small amount of wasted juice at the bottom of the atty.) And don't get me started with dripping through the battery end. If you miss the hole once you mess up the surface tension of the liquid and all the juice goes everywhere but the hole until you wipe it clean.
