I just recieved a starter kit from V4L last night, charged up the batteries and filled one of the blank cartos. I've watched several videos on how to refill them, and I've also done it successfully with a carto from gas station e-cig I bought previously. When I went to vape it, I instantly got this nasty burning taste and no vapor. I'm assuming the liquid did not completely absorb into the filler. Now that carto has that same burt smell to it.

Is that carto done for good? Or will I be able to use it again?

If the filler material has burn't then unfortunately the burnt taste will not go .

Fill another carto .

Fill it slowly until it will not absorb any more liquid .
Then set it down for 30 mins
See if you can add more liquid . Don't worry if liquid comes out the connector end , just wipe of the excess with a paper towel .
and then use it.

I always pre-fill my cartos and let them sit.

That's where I messed up...I saw a youtube video where someone used it right away....but in this case I was using a much higher VG ratio juice than normal, so it was pretty thick. Of course the other videos I watched after I already screwed up said to let it sit! I'll definitely be doing it that way from now on. Thanks so much!

Please don't use baking soda or any other type of chemicals to clean your cartos. That is only going to stay in the filler material and become dangerous to vape.

If you taste a burnt flavor from a carto then it's best to toss it in the garbage. Grab a new carto and start all over again. Always let your carto rest for 30 minutes after filling before you start to vape. This gives it time to seep throughout the filler material.
