Hello,

I have never experienced vaping on a cartomizer before. Actually I just found out about cartos 2 days ago.. And everyone is raving about it. My plan was to buy aga-t rebuildable atty since it looks so cool and i can rebuild it when it is not vaping good.

What about cartos? Can I rebuild a carto? What are the advantages of buying a carto over aga-t?

Apples and oranges, can't really compare.
A carto is easy in use and taste good(to me), but they don't hold much juice and easily ruined if you don't top them off with juice often enough, once they start to taste burnt they are done basically.
But check out cartotanks like Phiniac and IBTanked, using cartos in tanks is awesome.
Also, cartos are great for stealth used alone.

A genesis RBA have a steep learning curve setting them up with SS mesh, but work really good when you get them going.
They are very easy to set up with a silica wick, if you don't want to do the SS mesh-dance.

What is an Aga-T? I've only used E-Lites (UK brand) which are just a battery/cartom and a tip, which can be refilled with ease..

this is Aga-T tank

I love my AGA-T+'s, but if it's taking me a little bit to work out the hotspots, I'll pop my carto/tank setup on and have a good vape.

I'll also attest to the steep learning curve on the RBA's. It's a bit of a beast at first, but once you get going and figure out how to adjust your coils and wicks, you'll be enjoying them.

Edit: As far as the differences go, I believe the ATA-T2/+'s are solid stainless steel, including the screws, whereas the AGA-T is not. The new revision of the AGA-T+ comes with a glass tank from DV, and different style o-rings for the tank. More like a delrin grommet seal. The top cap on the AGA-T is threaded, so some people experience problems with the air hole not lining up with the wick/coil, but that can be remedied by sanding the bottom of it down until it lines up. The AGA-T+ has a top cap which sits on the top and seals via o-rings, so you can twist it to line the air hole up with the wick.

is there any significant difference between aga-t / aga-t2?

Yes, the T have a screw-on cap and usually needs to be modified to make the airhole line up with the wick. Also the wick hole is further from the center post, making it harder to avoid hot spots on the top coil wrap.
Definitely worth going for the T2. And buy with the glass tank if possible.

I'll add the thumbnuts on the T2 are smaller, if you find you are struggling with mesh you can always use Bluegrasslovers Method (wrap a fine layer of cotton wool round the mesh) this prevents hotpsots and still makes for a good flavoursome vape.;) This method also helps when you get tired and frustrated and all you want to do is vape.

Before making a purchase for an Aga-T ask if the center post is SS, but you can purchase these separately. Most vendors have replaced the center posts with SS posts but it's best to confirm they have.

Remember when setting up SS mesh on a VV/VW always use the Volt setting and always the lowest voltage available to you as well as using batteries that are not fully charged and pulse the fire button.

New myself. I have been loving the Kanger EVOD BCC with VV. Had the t3. Leaked too often and didn't particularly care for the mouthpiece. Have already rebuilt a few heads with stainless steel wicks and low resistance 32 wrap out of concerns of the silica wicks and the rumors. Didn't care for the SS wicks. After a day of use I had an irritated throat and headaches. Now I'm waiting on some 1mm hemp chord and using the silica in the meantime. Think the EVOD is a good place to start with rebuilding your own. Easy to work on and perform well. Have been looking at the agat2 myself and don't feel overwhelmed by it at all after working on the EVOD. My $0.02

I love RBAs, & have a couple of AGA-Ts....so my vote is to go that route. They are not as much trouble to set up as many people think, as long as you use the right method.
The best method I've seen to make a fool-proof coil & wick is the Petar K, or drillbit method. There are a lot of videos on Youtube showing how it's done., here's just one:
FunkyVapes - The Perfect Genesis Coil, Every Time! - - YouTube

Making a Stainless Steel Wick the right way (Todd):
Making a Stainless Steel wick - YouTube

Using these methods, you can build a flawless coil/SS wick EVERY TIME with minimal trouble. Give it a try, the results are well worth it.
