I opened a brand new carto, just a regular 510 (not sure if Boge or what brand) and it has so much polyfill that you can't even see the hole. I've never gotten one like this before. I tried to move it around a little with a toothpick, push it down, push it sideways, etc., but to no avail... I'm afraid to poke at it too much, as I'm afraid I'll mess it up. It's very difficult to blow through also, because of all the polyfill. I haven't put any juice in it yet or anything. Any suggestions??

i've had some success using a sewing needle to clear the air tube. i leave some thread on the needle to keep it easy to pick up. yours sounds like it may be a lost cause. put on a drip tip and try the draw. then take a cart that clear and do same. compare the two. if the one with excess material is tight i would not use it. might contact your vendor and might get a new one. good luck

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried the needle (actually I used a long eye pin... I make jewelry and an eye pin - what you can use to make earrings, etc, - was easier to hold on to and stuff...) and it did come out through the polyfill, but i still couldn't move enough filling to get a real hole where the tube-type thing is. Is it okay to actually trim some of the filling (if I can find scissors small enough to get down in there)? Plus, there's now some little polyfill "hairs" sticking out, from messing with it. The filler seems to practically be almost "solid" across the top and I still can't really get to the air hole tube. Anyone know if it's okay, or possible, to kinda trim the filling. I'd hate to not be able to use this carto, as I don't have very many left right now.
Thanks so much!
Sharon
