Okay, I just got my first cartomizer tank system, and the carto came pre-punched (this might be an important detail).

I filled the carto carefully...avoiding the center hole and not over-filling the poly fill...as in no standing juice on top of the poly fill. I put the carto in the tank system, and proceeded to fill the tank. This tank came with a handy fill port on the side, so I can top it off easily.

My problem is that when I fill the tank (and not too much of course) and start to vape all I get is gurgling wet hits and a battery connector soaked with juice.

What am I doing wrong? Could the hole in the carto be too big? Or, is the hole in a bad spot (it's rather low, down close to the bottom of the carto)? Or, do I need to just fill the tank without filling the carto first?

I've used cartos before without a tank on them and have really enjoyed it, so I'm confused. The tank system in question is my avatar pic.

Thanks in advance for any help from the wonderful ECF folks...

You have the type of carto/tank with the little screw on the side for filling?

I've used that type and the only time I get wet hits is if I don't put the screw back in. In fact, I do that sometimes when the carto seems dry- remove the screw and inhale a couple times and that fills the carto.

It seems like it's leaking. Can you tell where the liquid is coming from? You can buy grommets and o-rings if you think the one you have is loose.

Did you make the hole yourself? Maybe the hole is too big. You could pick up a box of punched cartos and see if they work better.

I'll move this to the cartomizer discussion section-

I think the hole might be too big. After seeing some other punched cartos in a search, my hole looks rather big. I didn't punch this myself. It came punched with the tank.

So, I took it apart and blew out the carto to clear the center hole, put it back together, and filled the tank a bit again. This time it seems to be working well. I think I was also drawing too hard, which can flood the carto (as I also just learned).

I'll get the hang of it sooner than later. Good thing I was using some cheap juice for my learning curve.
