I'm only about seven weeks into the vaping world, and still have plenty to figure out.
Right now I'm really loving using a Carto tank, and am experimenting with different cartomizers. Mostly great, but sometimes I get some flooding.
This seems like a small and simple issue, but I'm not sure what the normal routine is. The cartos I'm buying (smoketechs and boges) come with small white top caps inserted in the tubes. My local shop told me to toss them if I'm using a tank and replace them with a drip tip -- which I'd been doing, and mostly having positive results -- though with some gurgling after it rests overnight.
btw I have seen the videos on how to blow through the cartos to deal with this, and have been doing it.
But then I saw on the Ikenvape site, in the instructions for the 45/50 mm cartomizer, that you should re-insert the white cap to get the proper wicking and vacuum.
Here's the quote: "Slide it in, fill up the tank and apply the top cap. Remove it once and apply it back on. This will give preferred wicking and create a vacuum effect".
So I've been trying it, putting the little white cap back in, pushing it down flush with the wicking material, and then inserting the drip tip over the white cap.
Seems like it improves things with regular cartomizers (35/40 mm) and overtightens the draw on the longer (45/55 mm) ones.
I'm going to keep experimenting.
But I'm wondering if there's a standard practice here? What do you all do with the little white cap? Throw it out, or put it back?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
