This may be a dumb question, but ---- should I keep the rubber end caps on the cartomizers between uses? I'm wondering if the liquid will dry up if the caps aren't on. I took all the caps off of all 5 cartomizers at one time, and now the caps are all mixed up - sitting on the table. hmmmmm

If I need to put them back on, I guess I should wash the caps to keep from mixing flavors and scents. Although all 5 of these SI Smooth Sample have a very similar base scent and taste.

Thanks,
Happy

It sounds like you're talking about pre-filled cartomizers? Yes, I'd personally keep them on there if they were pre-filled just to keep them "fresh". If they're blank cartos, then it doesn't really matter, although it can be handy to have some on hand for the "condom" method of filling your cartomizers (usually done for the initial fill).

We use the rubber end caps on my husbands old eGo cartos so they won't dry up. We also have them in small ziplock bags that I purchased at an art supply store so they are small and the perfect size for the carto.

I have some of those from making games for my students. The little bags were great for little game pieces. I hadn't thought about using them for the cartos!! Great idea!!!!! I think that will also help keep the scents from mixing.

OK, adding to "things to do before bedtime" list. LOL

This is fun! BTW: I started vaping at noon today, and have only had 3 cigarettes since noon. I usually smoke 2 packs a day, so I'm feeling like this might work!!

Thanks for the advice!

I purchase unfilled 510 cartos. The end caps are silicon, not rubber. In addition there is a white soft plastic end cap at the mouthpiece end of each carto.

The flat white plastic end cap with a hole in the middle makes a poor mouthpiece. A good mouthpiece should prevent sucking up e-liquid during use. It doesn't do this job well. Use a drip tip instead.

The silicon end caps look like little cans with one end open. These are useful. You can fill a carto, put these end caps back on and carto will not leak until you are ready to screw them onto your pv for use.

I also write the flavour name on the bag.
Got 10 or more on the go, it's easy to mix 'em up if your not careful.

I'll also use the condom method to top up before I bag 'em.
Keeps 'em really wet.

Judging how much juice to put in the condom is a bit of a learning exp.
Start with just a little juice, if the fiber is still dry then repeat....
But any overflow goes back in the condom, if done correctly, then I suck
it into a blunt syringe(16-18GA) and shoot it back into the bottle.

This works for me.YMMV.

My condoms are all mixed up, (ewwww), and it doesn't seem to matter. I have a glass jar for q tips that I use to store the condoms, (ewwww), in so that I always have some extras. Don't find yourself without a condom!!! I am glad to see that you are doing well vaping! :vapor:

OMG, dsw, You are soooo hilarious!!!

I would love to know how the caps got the handle of "condom" Whoever did it, thank you!! You gave this forum a great source for humor!!

Also, Hitme and Yser, which "condom" (haha!) do you use for filling the cartomizer, the one that is flat on the bottom/inside or the one with the little, um, thingie, in the middle that goes through the middle of the battery end of the cartomizer. MotherOfPear!, this is getting downright side-splitting hilarious!

LOL..C'mon guys there could be children listening...(j/k)

I use the one with the least "stuff" in it, the most empty one.

I've seen a lot of vids where they fill from the threaded(battery)
side of the carto.

I fill from the open end then turn the carto up on it's threads to allow the
e-liquid to soak in. Physics will keep liquid out of the center tube unless the "plastic end cap", con...
was severely overfilled to begin with.

After a few mins. flip the carto over, "rubber cap" down and "pull out" the carto.

Any leftovers in the rubber boot can go back in the dropper bottle.....

Kids.....sheeesh....and I'm the younger one here....sheeesh!

Cheers Happy et all, I'm leavin' this "romper room" now! Bye!

I save EVERYTHING that comes with Cartos. Condoms, Seals, Mouth Pieces. Whatever.

I did Filler Type Cartos for about 3 months before moving to CE2's. CE2's don't come with Condoms.

But when I clean a CE2 I like to Soak them in White Vineger to remove the "Gunk" on the Atomizer Wire/Wick. The Condoms from my old Filler Type Cartos work Perfectly on a CE2. Just drop in a little Vineger and put the Condoms on.

I also like to keep a Few Filled CE2's in my car as a Backup. The Condoms work Great to keep the CE2's from leaking inside the Gum Tin I keep them in.

So yeah, I would save them.

BTW - I've found that if you trim the length down to about 3/8" or so they go on and off Much Easier.

That makes very good sense, zolDman. I'm need to check out things around the house to store some things in so I don't end up with a mess on the table next to my recliner. Right now it's a mess - cords, caps, cartomizers, chargers, PCC, etc.

I make enough mess with other stuff, now I'm adding to it, lol. I'm thinking about a small tackle box that can sit under my end table. Another thing to experiment on.

All of this is a great excuse to avoid things like cleaning and paying bills, lol.

I preload (fill) some of my Boge's and other various cartos and use the condoms on them for transport while I am on the go. I only do this in the event I have an issue with a tank. I am rather OCD when it comes to batteries, PV's, juice, my PC's, docking/charging stations for my MP3 players..... you get the idea. At any given time I can be known to have an xtra cell batt, and @ LEAST 1 set of batts for my 5v PV and 1 for my EGO. Some say I need a BATBELT (Batman utility belt) for all the stuff I carry; Zune, Cell, PV's all the batts. Wife told me she would walk 100 yrds ahead of me if I find anything else to carry around and get the belt......
