hello everyone, its been over a month now, and after all the "newbie" experiences im at the stage where I can relax and taste the juice. Ive only used a few so far and getting headed in the right direction on in what I like. I like 50/50 blends and the ones I tend to like are usually thick darker juice, mostly natural tobaccos. I use a 2.0 ohm boge carto with either 3 or 4 holes depending on thickness. I use a 3 to 4 ml tank. Ive noticed that after a few hours of heavy vaping, that on the real dark and thick ones, I will start getting a change in flavor. Not a burnt taste but almost "dirty" what I do is I will get a sliver toilet paper and I twirl it to a point and get it real thin and put it down the threaded end and and push it up gently so it doesnt get caught on wire. I will see that about half way it comes out with a dark, dirty residue of the juice that gets gunked up in the wire. I than do this on the other end (where you put drip tip) if I can. What also helps keep things clean I use those little soft bristles like you use to clean between your teeth. These are small bristles on a thin wire and they fit perfectly thru both ends. They will come out pretty yucky, and I do that a few times, rinsing and shaking till the bristle comes out white or at least the same color as juice. I think that sometime due to normal draws juice gets up the center of the carto and sort of burns along the wire and gets clogged. I also use the tissue paper thing when I fill my carto /tank to make sure there isn't juice trapped in there even If I do blow it out. Just something I did on my own, cause I study stuff. or I a bit OCD. I also do another silly thing, I will fill my carto up using the usual condom method, slowly etc. Before and after filling I take a very slender sewing needle and sort of gently poke at the filler to make sure its not packed too tightly. There have been some issues with boge being hard to wick etc. This really seems to helps the filler material a bit more absorbent. Just be careful not to pierce the center "sock" wrapping the wire. These are just little things that Ive come across during my problems getting to know the whole world of cartos and tanks. Hope this helps any of you that are getting juice that tastes bad suddenly or clogged cartos etc. Just be vary careful when inserting anything into the center of your carto. The wire and the protective wrapping is delicate and if you compromise the centers walls you will get flooding and burning. You also have to be careful slotting your cartos with a dremmel as I over did it and compromised the center of carto with saw. This can also happen when using a punch. I noticed quite a few cartos that were sort of off center. the wire and covering sort of sitting off to the side close to the steel, so I believe this caused the wierd dry/flooding burnt incidences. Oh well, this is what happens when you're up all night and thinking , this will work.
