Something I noticed today, and I wish I had taken pictures...

The original carts that came with my VK from V4L which were bought in the beginning of March had the wicking material all the way to the top (near the hole in the mouthpiece) literally take off the white cap and the silicone ring and there was the filler. Today I tore open a cart that didn't last for crap (bought from someone in the classifieds - NOT Yours Drew), and the filler material was maybe 2/3 of the way to the top, and the atomizing wire was sticking up out of it. I guess my point is that these cartomizers, like everything else, are victims of poor QC in China.

Drew, you can find these Reynolds gadgets in any supermarket in the plastic/tinfoil aisles.

Wow wegster you dont mess around! I think thats the one I bought for my in laws a year ago or so...they love it...They reuse everthing also...they rinse out there zip lock baggies and us them for a long time...They even have a holder that helps them dry. I actually tried it a couple times but I caught the cat licking the inside once and figured I better not leave them around( insert picture From Kate here)
Drew, the Reynolds gadgets he's talking about are at Wal-mart in that section. I also bought a foodsaver & it is great for big stuff(putting up a lot of meat) but this little gadget is battery operated & works great. It makes food last longer. I use it for salads, leftovers, cheese , lunchmeats & anything you want to last longer. It comes with bags that you suck the air out. I love mine & its like only $19.99.

I can't fill/top off/etc because I'm totally blind and can't see the liquid. Pouring something into a cup or a pot is one thing but trying to measure tiny drops into a tiny cartridge and to not hit the atomizer without sight is pretty much impossible. Maybe, there's a trick to it but I have no idea what it would be. That and not having to buy atomizers is why I switched to the vk. However, I'll definitely keep in mind your note on smell and taste.

Mag...when they get really hot...throw them away. When you start tasting burnt liquid or the hits become harsh....throw them away. But the best way to know you are starting to burn the cart material is by smell. Every once in a while I smell the battery end of the cart...if it smells burnt...it is burnt....throw it away. I find that by making sure the cart is filled fully from the beginning.....opening up the cart and topping off from the beginning and adding a few drops from the battery end as well.... I get the best performance. Alot of these carts are half filled ....when you vape on a half filled cart you will definitely increase the chances of burning through the cart. Sometimes I overfill the cart...and that is no good as well. If you ever over fill a cart....blow out the extra liquid on to a napkin.

You should always carry liquid with you as well. Every 40-50 puffs add a 3 drops of liquid from the battery end of the cart. Roll it around in your hand and then you are good to go. Throw them away after 200 puffs. Keep these carts moist people...you don;t want to inhale polyester fumes.

bri1270 you are absolutely right! I just checked some old and new cartomizers and found exactly what you said. The filler material is a lot less in the new ones, again Drew, not yours. Makes sense they wouldn't last as long with less material in them! Hopefully the suppliers take note of this and make sure to get carts that have full filler material.

ROFLMAO!! Drew - that was the best chuckle I had today! I thought my in-laws HAD to be the only people on the planet that washed, rinsed, dried and reused the ziploc baggies. And, then to have the cat lick the inside when you tried to do the same thing - OMG - I am in tears! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
