All of the above Jinglepixie.

I usually will change a carto when one of the following happens:

1: Off taste: If Burnt taste then immediate trip to the garbage. If just off it gets cleaned.

2: Hard draw: Once again Clean and allow to dry completely, fill and test vape, if nasty still, immediate trip to the rubbish.

3: Leaking out the battery post: Examine, dry up and re-install, if another leak occurs, vape it till the flavor is gone and then immediate trip to the rubbish.

4: Does not fire at all: Unscrew, screw back in and try to fire, if nothing, immediate trip to the rubbish since it is clearly a dead stick.

Hope that is what you were looking for :D

Both! My original mistake in my opion, was having too many cartos (mega DCC's that hold a lot of juice) going at a time and not knowing which were older and which were newer and getting frustrated by putting new juice on a carto that was on it's way out. I think I was getting more than a week, but I had so many in rotation that it was hard to tell!! I finally got frustrated and threw about 18 of them on a pot after Runnin water through them no know that I wasted about 30 ml of juice at this point. The problem was, after cleaning, it was hit or miss on refills. Maybe the ones used for less time performed better after cleaning, but I don't know. Frustrating to fill with 2 ml of liquid to find the draw very hard. When overused, you will notice that the juice gets very dark (blow some out into a tissue) and he's, starts to taste off and not perform as well. I've finally decided that having 2 or three "working" at a time is max for me!! That way, I am kind of aware whick ones have been used more than the other and I can decide to clean or toss out accordingly!

I know most people only use them for a few days, I use mine for a week or so. What in your opinion makes you change a carto? Is it the flavor? Or the fact that it gets hard to hit? Or..etc?

I also use mine for a week or more. Agree with what Devon said about the reasons to stop using a carto.

HIGHLY suggest that you check out this thread:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...10-kr808-4081-etc-filler-type-cartos-572.html

There are a LOT of very knowledgeable people on here that can help you with any future questions that you have. Also, it can give you a better perspective of the positives and negative of cartomizers. I seriously cannot recommend this thread enough to people as I've gained a world of knowledge from it and the people that usually are on that thread.

My answer to Jinglepixie's (teehee) question is that it depends on the carto. Some taste bad before they clog up and some clog up before the taste goes south.
I used to try to make my cartos last for weeks but I don't any more. As soon as the pleasure in using them starts to fade I toss them. I'm still averaging 4 or 5 days on a carto and they cost about $1.60. My home mixed 0 nic juice costs me about $0.16 a day (6ml). That comes to about $0.96 a day for cartos and juice so the whole thing is a TON cheaper than the $8.50+ a day I used to spend on cigs.

There are tricks to making a carto last longer just like there are tricks to making an atty last longer.
There are also good deals and bad deals when buying cartos. For instance there is a production run of Boge's out there that are really bad. (now you know why there are all these $5/box sales going on right now) Problem is that you can't tell if they are good or bad until you use them.
