Is there any kind of warning that your cartomizer is getting ready to fail. Like harder to pull or any different crackling sounds.

my cartomizer I'm using is a week old about 10mls of monkey cream and is hard to pull and the crackling sound doesn't start until 2 secs after I pull, that's using 4.0 volts on my ego-c twist. When it was new it was crackling as soon as I pulled.

Yeah, what Jerseyrob said. A carto will rarely taste as good as when you first start vaping on a fresh cart, it will start to gradually decline in flavor and vapor production as you use it. Once the pull becomes too stiff or hard, its time to change it out with a new one. Darker or thicker juices will shorten a carto's life. The pollyfill becomes clogged up with the tiny particulate matter and starts to have wicking issues to the heating coil. The carto's ability to contain the juice from the center air hole can also break down, resulting in a gurgling sound and eventually clogging it up.

Despite these things, I still prefer a carto for consistancy and flavor production over a string wicked delivery device. It also is not position dependent like a string wicked delivery device.

Wow, thanks everyone. This board is very active.

And yes mine is a carto tank. I really like the setup of a carto tank. Fits my needs. I got a vivi nova 3ml and ce6 on order from fasttech.com. Going to try those out.

I guess my next question is for a ego-c twist what ohm is everyone using. My box says xl standard resistance,so I don't know what ohm they are.

Low resistance is 1.5 - 2.0 ohm.

Standard resistance is 2.0 - 2.5 ohm.

High resistance is 2.5 - 3.0 ohm. There are even higher ohm cartomizers available for ultra high voltage vaping.

Standard resistance will work with your eGo Twist. If the vapor appears to be a little too warm for you or your flavors taste burnt, going up in resistance to a 2.5 - 3.0 ohm will provide you with a cooler vape.

The XL indicates the length of your cartomizer (45mm). There are also standard length (35mm).

There's a popular Safe Vaping Power Chart that is often used as a general guideline for choosing the proper resistance for a particular voltage or wattage range. Stay in the green section for the best results. The creator wrote the following guide, which also includes the chart.

I have several articles in my blog on cartomizers and cartotanks. You can access it by clicking on the link below my avatar (blog entries) and then clicking on the title of the article you wish to read.
