Hello....and thank you in advance for any help. If I have an ego battery...can I buy blank cartomizers and a drip tip and be successful gaping. I don't like the evod ...I get a burnt taste quite often

Sure can! Check out the Boge or Smoktech cartos, I hear they are the best. Also, you have the option of going with a cartotank system (cartos w/ punched holes inside a tank to hold liquid and feed the carto) to hold a larger amount of juice between refills.

As far as your EVOD, have you replaced the atty head in it? Maybe it's just time to pop a new one in and keep on gaping! Errr... I mean vaping!

I love using cartomizers. These were what I used on my eGos.

I started out using Boge cartos almost 2 years ago and I still use them. You get a bad one now and then but I have had good luck with them and they work well. I have tried the carto tanks and just had too many problems with them, but many people here love them. The next thing I would recommend trying is the Aspire bdc clearomizers. They are easy to fill and work great.

I also experienced a burnt taste with Evods, and found that using a higher resistance head - 2.5 ohms, solved it. Bottom coil clearos need higher resistance than cartos or top coils, at least for me. Good luck!

Cartos work well, the big drawback is they don't hold much, that is where the carto tank comes in. You get the advantages of a carto, with the juice capacity of a tank.

If you decide you like cartos, you can get bulk deals on Boges for a little over a dollar a carto. Let us know if they work good for you and members will help you to find the best deals. Boge are pretty good and fairly cheap if bought at the right place.

I used cartos alone for a year before moving to carto tanks. Smok (Smoktech) single coil 1.7 or 2.0 ohm XL have been my long-time favorite. These hold 1.8 ml of juice. Top them off frequently for the longest life and best vapor. The 1.7 ohm will make a lot of nice vapor with an eGo device but requires extra attention to topping off. Vaping a 1.7 ohm down 1/2 way will probably burn it. Hoosier E-Cig is great.
