My first vape was a carto tank. I finally gave them up after buying some bad cartos from a local shop. Went through pt's. nauti's 'til I bought my first Kayfun and that was a year ago. The KFL or KF 3.1 (which I use) are great. They are a rebuildable so you'll need Kanthal and cotton for the wick and a way to measure the atty resistance but I love 'em.

Interested to know if anyone else uses cartos without tanks? Have been vaping for over 4 years now. Tried all sorts of toppers and always seem to return to Boge S/C's at 5.5 volts on my provaris or 5 volt Woo. All the best B.K.

I do occasionally, if I want to vape something for a short time and don't feel like giving up one of my kayfuns for it. Or, the Blueberry Muffin that I still have from sweet-vapes tastes its absolute best in a carto or cartotank; it's not my ADV anymore, but I still like it, just for short spells.

If I ever had a real craving for a smoke, I'd probably use a tobacco-ish flavor in a carto with a piccolo driptip.

I can't remember the last time I used a carto... but a kept a couple of hundred pre-boge-gate boge cartos and a pretty big handful of smoketech shorties... And, I bet there's a few boxes of dual coil smoke techs somewhere in my stuff.

When I used them, it was because they were fairly consistent and not real difficult to deal with. Filling them was always sort of a hassle... They were an OK way to vape a tube mod without carrying too much extra stuff or dripping while driving etc. --> Using them on a REO was incredibly simple. But, they were somewhat wasteful (always lose at least a ml of juice when it's time to toss one)... And, when some better performing commercial attys came out (i06, cisco aero, hh.357 etc), I couldn't find any reason to continue to use them on my REOs, and I had stopped using tube mods.

I'm not entirely sure why I've never traded, sold, or just thrown away my fairly large supply of cartomizers. I guess maybe I hang on to them because I know they would serve me just fine if I ever had to take a couple of steps back down from my rebuildable bottom fed attys. I don't think there's anything wrong with using just plain old cartos... but I like the vape experience I get out of what I use now somewhat better.

I haven't used a carto (or cartotank) for about a year, not since I began using RBA's exclusively.

I used cartotanks exclusively for about two years and was pretty happy with them. Certainly much better than the clearos available at the time. The higher end clearos today might compare favorably to cartotanks, but still not a match for rebuildables IMO.

I did occassionally use a carto solo in my stealthy Smoktech Gripper mechanical mod.http://data:image/jpeg;base64,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

I do most of the time. Most of the time must be over 95% or so. Sure, there are always a few duds, sometimes it seems like they're paying no attention to what they're doing when they manufacture cartos. Still, they're cheap, most of the work well, they're great for somebody who likes to switch flavours, taste right, good temp, ok TH, really I can't fault cartos and I mean boges (vertical coils, as I find horizontal coils spoil the flavour).

Somewhere out there
Amazing how things change! I have not been ecf for awhile and now I see even cartos are a thing of the past, wow who knew? Almost 4yrs for me vaping and I am back to 808's for ease of use and still use cartos. Sounds like I need to stock up before they are obsolete! LOL I don't like clearos or use tanks anymore, just a simple 808 and I am happy :)

I still use boge lr cartos on an itaste vv3. I make a DIY menthol tobacco and the boge cartos are the only thing that I like it in that I have tried. I'll probably buy them until they quit making them.

I don't think they'll ever stop making them (fingers crossed).
