Cartos & Air Travel

i've read a few of the airport/airplane threads and i am still nervous about my trip to ATL later this month.

i'm not too worried about batts/5 mil bottles. but i am wondering about the cartomizers... do i need to put them in the baggy with liquids? or?

i'm tempted to mail emergency vaping supplies to my friend's house before i go.

Watching this thread closely as I fly on Friday. I have read tons of other threads on this and it seems everyone has a different experience. I wonder if the recent attacks will make it more of a hassle. I would be extremely sad if they confiscated my goods. I plan to pack half in my suitcase and half in my purse.

i was hoping to avoid checking any bags, but if there's a chance, i'd far rather deal with the hassle of checking a bag than not. i'm hoping as long as i use V4L packaging and pack very neatly it won't be an issue... and i'll carry cards.

I'm not checking a bag either. I just figure if it is spread out and not one big stash it may not draw as much attention. Or if they catch one they won't catch the other. I wish it was well known to all TSA agents that these are ok to fly with.

well, i can't see the batts being any type of issue at all. and they'll be packed in my laptop bag with all my electronics. nor do i see the e-liqu bottles being a prob. but cartos? they should be fine, i just feel like putting them in the clear baggie for liquids is drawing attention to them, but they do contain liquid so i dunno.

When we flew Continental during the holidays, I had a bunch in my (locked) checked baggage and some in my camera/laptop bag. We departed from Kansas City International airport with no problems whatsoever. We flew to Cleveland Hopkins and left 4 days later, with no problem.

Just flew into ATL Friday. I did check bags so my main stash went in my overnight bag. But I carried 6 cartos with me (stored 3 a piece in 2 "altoids smalls" tins thrown in my lappy bag) no issue. I even got randomly selected for a pat down but of course they weren't on me. I'd say no big deal. How many are you planning on bringing? The ship ahead option might be nice but with the fast shipping from V4L, if they get confiscated you could just place an emergency order while you wait for your plane to ship to your destination address.

:hmm: that's an idea... i could just order from V4L, have it shipped to her house--i'm only going to be gone a few days. i'm flying out of IAD, btw. i mean, then even if they're confiscated on the way home, that's no big deal, i can mail them from ATL. & thanks for finding that post, pianoguy!

I am flying out of Dulles too, I will let you know how my trip through security goes.

I know my father just recently went from Albany through Cleveland through Dallas(or maybe Houston) and into Killeen. He had my VK manual batt, VK PT, 2 other 2 piece devices, and about a dozen cartos with him in his carry-on the way down and back with no issues.

I had flown to paris france dec 18th-24th..

I packed my batts, carts in my old analog case and put 1 sample bottle of e liquid in my 1 qaurt size baggy with my shampoo etc..

i didnt have any issues comming or going

eta, carried it my carry on

Airport security has absolutely zero problems with our e-cigs.

Bag the juice and carry batteries & cartos the way you normally would.

The only time anything was said to me was a curious, "what is that?" as I picked my VK up out of the bin to put it back in my pocket. When I told her, she wanted to know if it worked. I told her I hadn't smoked in 3 months and she got a big smile on her face.
