Why does my liquid in cartos only taste good the first few puffs off of it and only when it is absolutely full?
I am vaping on a Kgo 1100 with a 1.25ohm dual coil clear carto (the big one). The current liquid is Pink spot Watermelon but honestly all of my liquids are like this from mrs t's snickerdoodle to mints and fruity flavors.

They taste fantastic the first puff or 2 then they start to taste dry. not necessarily burnt but not as flavorful and not very pleasant. I have also noticed this on kr808d1 cartos and with my kgo the 1.5 shorty clearos.

would love some help on this as it is kindof ruining my vaping experience.

Oh I don't go shorter... In fact, I probably go longer - just not so hard lol

The slower flow of the air seems to give it time to pick up more vapor, and the reduced flow (speed) probably helps prevent any slight cooling.

LOL. Isn't this a G-rated forum?
Since vaping is possible through the "warming" of the liquid (PG/VG) on the wick of the cartomizer, I would think the longer drag (softer or harder) would warm the heating element entwined on the wick thereby possibly vaporizing the eliquid off the wick before more eliquid can be absorbed from the stuffing and slightly burning the dry wick -thus, the slight burnt taste being experienced.
Just my scientific 2 cents, but try both ways and let us know which one works for you.
Vap'on!

You may not be filling them right, not letting them settle, or using unsuitable juice

I do not use those extreme LR dual coils. I recommend you learn to fill and keep damp normal cartos first. And don't even try to use thick high VG juice until you are great at using thinner juices because thick juices are very hard to make work in cartos. They just don't move fast enough to keep it damp around the coil(s)

How I fill Vapor4Life KR8 cartos and Boge 510 cartos

Pop out the soft cap with an unbent paperclip in the mouth hole, very careful not to catch stuffing or the wire loop.
Shake and open the eliquid
Hold a bit of tissue on the threaded end hole, tilt the carto, and add 18 drops per ml of capacity into the stuffing (Boges and most KR8 cartos are about 1ml).
Wait 15 seconds or so then see how many more drops the carto stuffing will soak in easily.
Clean up the threaded end, tilt open end down into tissue, puff into threaded end to clear air channel (Boges and the KR8 cartos I use have a defined center air channel and I want to see light through that)
Sop up any loose juice above the stuffing
Cap and let it settle - I lay it on different sides for 15-20 minutes to make sure every bit of stuffing gets damp so I won't singe the carto. if you use thicker juice than me (I use 20% Vg or less) then you may need to wait much longer.

While vaping, if the vapor gets a bit light or a bit dry or the carto is getting hotter than normal, I take the carto off the battery and add eliquid. I sometimes use a plastic or delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece on Boge and KR8 cartos (not to drip into since the juice would head for the central air channel)

sorry, I should've read your original post more closely. You were NOT experiencing the burnt taste.
In that case, Michael's advise is right. Lighter, longer drag. More TH and more vapor. If you want more intense, then try covering one of the air intake holes if there is one on your ecig. If you only have one, then partially block. I found that it increases the intensity and flavor.
Bon vapant!

ive been using a syringe to fill my cartos down between the filler and the clear plastic. they look pretty full. My highest vg mix is 35% but only because thats the lowest the vendor does. the watermelon im attempting to vape now was a new one from this morning that i have topped off a few times so it should have had plenty of time to settle into the fill.
soft and long seems to be working better ugh that sounds so dirty now thanks eman lol

been a rough day had my first pass-out client while i was tattooing her come to find out she was epileptic and lied on her release form.. yeah i had a couple analogs after that one. I thought for sure she would have cracked her skull as hard as her head hit on the tile... geez scary ....i can still hear that sound in my head. ugh
better day tomorrow.

If a carto taste bad after a few puffs then that usually means the juice is too thick to wick quick enough to keep the carto area damp. Try adding some drops of distilled water to your juice to thin it and see if that helps. If it helps, then your juice is too thick and you need juices with less VG (or you will have to thin your juices)

Yeah - right... makes me glad I reworded it from 'long, slow and steady" & "satisfaction guaranteed"... LOL

OK, so that had to do wonders for the stress level. :(

    in a cave, eh?
How many drops are you getting in your cartos? It takes time for all of the juice to sink in to the filler. You can speed up the process by either doing the taryn spin (spin the cartridge around in a lanyard and centrifugal force pushes the liquid to the bottom) or by shaking the cartomizer like a thermometer.
