hi,

i'm trying something different with my 510. i was using carts/blue foam, that worked for awhile, but i started noticing that no matter what flavor i was using, nothing had any taste. was it the blue foam? it was wet and had tons of vapor, but airy draw and no taste.

so i pulled out some empty cartos. thought i would give it a try. used my usual caramel med, popped off soft cap, filled cap 1/2 (about 12 drops) and replaced back on carto slowly, waiting for the stuff to fill up. attached and took a vape. first impression: hot, second impression: chest hurt, couldn't take hardly a draw as compared to carts/blue foam, third impression: didn't really taste burnt burnt, but had a cooky feel and taste??? make sense? not sure if i did this right, or even if I like it. Now---------haven't had any analogs in well over a month 1/2, except for a few a about a month ago. have my taste buds never come back??? i surely could taste with poly fill (my caramel/cappuchino), with blue foam (it tastes good for one day), then nothing but air and nice vapor. what could I being doing wrong???

i have really given this vapor thing a shot. done lots of researching and trial and error. turned a few people on to it also.

one other note, i think i am going back to carts, i don't mind dripping once in a awhile (i only hit my vapor less than 20 times a day). until i can figure it all out. i really like caramel/capuchino flavorings. but i have noticed that when i am not getting anything (flavor wise), but plenty of vapor is when I drop a couple drops and on the atty too. however, I would pull out the poly fill (thinking i would need to replace it) but it was soaked:?:!

any ideas or advice?

Thanks in advance.

still haven't had analog (around people who smoke)

still haven't bought my 2-pack (marlboro menthol) special at the liquor store
(guy at the register is probably scratching his head wondering where I am:unsure:). Suprisingly, i don't like menthol too much anymore. go figure.

Sara, what kind of cartomizers are you using? Do you know? Manufacturer? Where did you buy them?

Right off the bat, sounds like you're underfilling them. All the 510 cartomizers I've tried (and I've tried most of them) take at least 25, all the way up to 35+ drops of eliquid. Are the blank or prefilled?

sorry i didn't get back to u sooner. I have a 510 joye e cig and i was using 510 cartos from awesome vapor. i filled them with 12mg of caramel capuchino from diy flavor shak. stuff was too hot, too strong and smelled and tasted like i was inhaling boiling caramel (maybe not boiling, cause it wasn't that hot, but cooking shall we say??)

it was yuck.

any ideas?

should i just stick with carts? because do all cartos have a warm taste to them?

Short answer?

No, you have to match the ohm rating of your cartomizer to the voltage of your battery. You may find the formula and some other useful information below, look at Kent"s chart.

Carto Master Thread - Just the Facts Ma'am - No Chit Chat Please

Long answer? Start sometime in May...:D

Burning Cartomisers? Dangerous?-E9/VK/bloog/totem/808/DPV9/Smoke51...etc

Practical answer?

If your PV is 510 (3.1v), you want a moderate resistance cartomizer, like Tru-Vapor from Vapors Etc (2.4Ω) or SLB from IkenVape (2.6-2.9Ω), regular SLB or Boge (3.0Ω) from LiteCig, Vapor Kings and others. Good luck.

The cartos at Awesome Vapor look like SLB (brass thread), but there's no information on the website about their resistance. They don't seem to be LR.

Just remember, 12 drops is just about one half of what this carto needs. 25-30 drops is more like it. If you put 12 drops in a carto you'll burn it right away. Even faster if you're using sweet, dark-colored, high VG eliquids.
