Cartos: What am I doing wrong?

I'm having Issues.

I have an eGo, and because I apparently suck at cart mods and my dripping has been inconsistent (until tonight), I bought some adapters and some empty cartos and decided to give them a whirl.

I received my order today along with a free pre-filled coffee flavored carto from Cig Easy. I popped on the pre-filled carto immediately, and the first draw (VG and 16mg) just about knocked me on me ..... But after that... nothing. Little to no TH, little to no vapor. There I sat, sucking through the proverbial straw, and I got nothing.

Now, even people who don't like cartos don't say that you get *nothing* from them. And my first draw showed me just how much I *could* get from them. But I'm not. I'm getting some mild flavor, but nothing else.

I've tried it both with and without the cone for my eGo. I've tried it with the prefilled carto and ones I filled myself.

I was wondering if the adapters from mad vapes are the right ones to use with cartos. I read recently (after I placed my order, of course) that adapters for 510 to cartos need air channels, and I don't know if mine do.

I finally seem to have had some success with dripping with my 510 atty tonight (multiple vapes in a row without flooding--go me!), but I would still really love to get the cartos figured out for a couple of reasons. First, because even I leave the house occasionally, and second, I want my mama to try vaping, and I'll have the best luck convincing her to try if I have a simple method for her to try, and nothing is simpler than cartos (in theory, at least).

Any help would be appreciated.

hmm. i would ask in the subforum you bought your cartos from. i'm not really very familiar with adapters, or i would give you more tips. no chance you flooded it, then? can you tell if the cart is heating up?

The Cig Easy forum doesn't seem to be extremely active. The cartos were definitely heating up; I could feel it getting warmer against my lips.

I feel like I'm back in gym class. I was that geeky girl who'd rather be doing algebra.

If it had just been the cartos that I filled, I would assume that I hadn't done that properly (and I might not have). But since it also happened with the pre-filled, I have to figure that either I'm the problem or the adapters are. And with the way things have been going so far, I'm definitely not ruling out *me.*

That kinda sounds like how it was first my first cig, I just couldnt get it right and I was getting so depressed. I played with it and I have that sucker figured out, I have to have the cart soaking wet.
Needless to say i like things nice and easy so i got a 510 and It has been heaven. I wish i could give more advice but for me being im new with this was just getting comfortable with it and play around. Like i said before my first ecig was a overpriced one from the mall and i was so afraid of messing it up, but once i got comfortable with it and got it broke in it works like a charm, but 90% of time im vaping on my 510 because it is just so easy to use.

as far as cartomizers go, you really need to fill them up. 5-8 drops isn't going to cut it with them. A completely new unfilled carto will take anywhere from 10-20 drops but once you get it filled they're great (especially on a PT or 5v) You just top them back off when you notice a change in flavor and/or vapor production. How often you do that will jsut depend entirely upon how often and how much you vape. There's several videos on how to fill a carto on here and it's not really all the difficult. Once a carto is topped off it should take you a while before having to refill it

the adapter's do work...however sometimes they dont make full contact..the center post in it..(yeah there is one) may have to be finagled one way or the other (I forget which way I had to push mine)..I'm assuming there is a hole in the center post too (there should be at least)..also try it without the atty cone (if you havent)...the cone really stiffens up the draw...

Drozd do you mean the Madvapes adapters work? They have the right air passages? I don't have a clue. don't use them.

To the OP, Altsmoke has the 510-kr8 adapters, assuming that is what you need.

the one I have are from madvapes..they have a little tiny air hole on the 901 thread side as well as a hole through the center..
mine didn't quite work at first, but that center post is kinda moveable...
I had to screw the carto on real tight on the 901 thread...and line up one of the gaps on the carto to the air hole (or else the daw was hellishly stiff) and then screw them both onto the 510 battery...(it kinda sets the depth correctly on the center post on the adapter)

But yeah they work

Drozd, you mentioned the cone issue to me in another thread, so I tried it both with and without. I'll take a look at it today and see if I can figure out the adapter issue. Thanks again.

I had a similar problem (getting little to nothing on a new cart). Blowing through the end (non-mouth side) to clear out any excess liquid, seemed to help out with the problem.

Be sure to wipe off any liquid that's on the tip of the mouth piece after you blew threw the end that connects to the battery.

I was having this problem with cartos on an RN4081, so I don't know if that will do the trick for your problem cartos, but good luck.
