I'm looking for a cartotank, but I cant seem to figure out if its a single piece you purchase or if you buy some special sort of tank and use cartos that you purchase separately. I have a vivi nova that is cool but i want to try something different. I purchased a cartomizer from a B&M and prefer it.

What are some things I should be looking at?

Also, I'm currently using an eGo but will be upgrading to a VAMO by the end of the week.

Thanks

Brian

Hi!

A cartotank looks similar to a Viva Nova, but the difference - there's a carto in place of the atomizer head/wick assembly. It's basically a tube with a carto in it. That carto needs to have holes (punched), and it feeds the juice via those holes.

Some cartotanks come with cartos, some don't. :)

Hope this helps!

An excellent cartotank is the Cartomator tank made by Vaperfexion. I think the best place to buy prepunched boge cartos is from VaporGod, as they are the cheapest I've seen and include a free 5ml of juice.

I got a Catomator tank with a "fill hole" installed, which I find is quite a bit easier to fill than partially sliding out the carto.

You need a carto tank with cartos. Prepunched cartos are great. You have to make sure to prime (fill) them. As far as carto tanks I like Phiniac, but hear great things about IBtanked crato tanks too. IBtankeds are less expensive so you may want to try them first to see if you like it. Yu're also gonna want to invest in a tank tool. It makes it easier to put the carto in, refill the tank, and change cartos.

If you want to just try out a carto tank without spending a lot of money you can try something like a Boge F16. $6.99 including shipping here.

I personally just started using carto tanks a couple of days ago and am loving them. I have the F16, one from IkenVape and also the IBTanked Pyrex tanks 19mm XL. I've not had any problems with any of them but be careful w/ the plastic ones as some juices will interact w/ the plastic and crack or melt them. The IBTanked Pyrex tanks seems to be the best value for a Pyrex tank today.

Probably just as important is to choose a good cartomizer to use with your tank. All your tank does is hold the juice but all the vapor is coming from the cartomizer (which you are probably well aware of). I personally am enjoying the Ikenvape Fusions but they are currently hard to get a hold of. I've also greatly enjoyed the Boge cartomizers.

Definitely visit Baditude's blog posts as they are a great resource and of course tons of tutorials on youtube about how to set up a carto tank.
