Okay, another painfully obvious newbie question. :)

So I'm on the Greensmartliving e-cigs (almost two weeks analog-free!) and while they're a much better experience than others I've tried I'm planning on upgrading.

Currently I'm looking at the Joye eGo (510 atomizer w/3.7v battery. Starter kit from Route66.)

Right now I'm totally in love with the vanilla flavor cartridges, so I'd like to get extra carts with my purchase along with the juice.

On to the question!

Do I need a syringe or something to fill those? I keep reading about syringes and "condoms" (eyebrow raiser there) and whatnot, so I'm a bit confused as to how to refill the silly things.

Thanks in advance!

No you don't need a syringe to fill a cartridge.

I think you're mixing up cartridge with cartomiser. A cartomiser is a one piece heating element that you just pop the lid off and drop liquid straight into it. A cartridge is what you put onto an atomiser (it's a two piece heating element) and you just need to pop it off and drop liquid into the wadding in the cartridge to fill it.

If you're getting the ego I would recommend you get some boge 510 2.0ohm cartomisers with them.

Here's a short video on one of the easiest ways to fill these for the first time: Filling 510 electronic cigarette cartomizers using the "condom" or "push" method - YouTube which is where the "condom" thing comes into play.

Once you've filled it this way, you just need to keep it topped up by popping the cap off the cartomiser and dripping liquid (about 4 - 6 drops) straight into the filler in there :)

A 5 ml syringe with an 18 gauge needle is a useful thing to have to get liquid wherever. You can fill a cartoMIZER with the "condom" method, drop by drop, or with a syringe by pushing liquid in along the side walls. The advantage of the latter is you can get liquid more quickly distributed. The bigger capacity cartomizers take too long to fill drop by drop, and the shape doesn't always lend itself to the condom method.

I find the Joye eGo the most reliable and the most compatible. Boge 2.0 cartomizers are indeed excellent.

Find liquid you can buy in bottles, not in pre-filled cartridges or cartomizers. If you are not sure what strength liquid to use, you can buy a super strong 48 mg/ml juice in a given flavor, and flavored 0 nicotine base in the same flavor, say at TastyVapor.com where they call them "doublers". Then you can adjust to any strength by mixing, say 1/3 of the 48 with 2/3 of the doubler gives you 16 mg/ml liquid. By trial and error on small amounts you'll find what works best for you.

I've done dripping, condom and syringe.. all work. The condom method is a bit messy and I think wastes a lot of juice. Dripping is way easier but my carto's will hold 60 drops so it takes some time. The syringe method is definitely the fastest, delivering liquid from the bottom up so wait time is seriously cut down. You just need a big enough needle for the thick liquids to get through. Dripping works just fine most of the time. Just my two cents...
