carts don't last long, it is much more economical to refill your own...

Been thinking, always dangerous I know :)

It seems crazy to buy new carts when the wadding (or whatever it is called) has started to clog. I've found that you can rinse them a few times in IPA (or even Vodka!), but eventually they break down.

So my question is: what is the wadding made from, and where can I get some?

OK, I lied: two questions :D

There are a few different suggestions over in the tips and tricks section of the forum. Probably 10 different threads. The filling is basically poly fill stuffing, which you can get at a hobby store or walmart-type place. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/9541-cartridge-filler-materials.html Lately some have been trying a suggestion from SuburbitonPete using either paper towels or teabags. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/11394-replacing-cartridge-wool.html I've tried the paper towel and the teabag and both work pretty well for me, though it takes some practice to get it right.

Just to add to this - I have tried the bags of Poly-Fill Batting mentioned and they work however I found them to be a bit too wispy / fibrous / bits sticking out all over the place ? Not sure how best to describe it... Anyway, I went to the local Hancock Fabrics store (Looking for leather for a bike seat - honest! - Very macho stuff!) and found some Poly-Fil Nu Foam "Densified Batting" which seemed the same but more compacted so got a small bag of that (Not allowed to post links yet)

That also works well however, I still seem to get the best results from just some good old fashioned paper towels ! Just need more practice on the finding right amount of foam, how to insert it correctly etc as it does seem to make a difference...

Before I started using paper napkins, I used to use the batting too. Got mine at walmart. It was good ....but the napkins are just so much easier, it's unbelievable. Napkins, paper towels, teabags, coffee filters....sounds like we're in someone's kitchen....LOL
