MEMBER HELP NEEDED!!!

CASAA has issued a press release regarding the FDA proposed rules. It has been issued through PR Newswire, posted on our blog and (if you are on our email lists) you will soon receive a copy via email.

We need your help to get this press release picked up by news outlets! (Just releasing it through a service - even a good one - doesn't mean it will get picked up by the major news outlets.)

Here is what you can do to help:

• Forward the email (if you are a member - otherwise, forward the link) to your local newspaper editors and news station producers. (We do not have a list - please help us by finding the information yourself.)
• Post the press release link on the Facebook pages of local and national newspapers and networks (but please do not spam if you see it's already been posted, just comment on the existing link that you'd like to see it reported.)
• Tweet the link to the press release to local and national newspapers and networks.
• Post a link to the press release on your Facebook timeline and in vaping groups for them to share.

For those of you chomping at the bit to "do something now," here is your chance!

I haven't gotten the e-mail either. Guess I'll re-reg. if I don't get it by tomorrow.

There are still people out there who are digging in their heels and refusing to believe that equipment isn't going to be regulated. The press release - which is otherwise excellent - is limited to "refillable devices," even though it's clear from the subsequent paragraph referencing advanced devices that CASAA correctly believes that every piece of essential hardware unique to vaping is going to be regulated (and probably out of existence).

MODs, separate attys (i.e. non-RDA/non-hybrids), EGO batteries, and coils are not "refillable devices."

I wish someone from CASAA would just do a quick post on the FDA Regs forum and link to the press release and also make this point about all essential equipment unique to vaping.

There are also people who mistakenly believe that the FDA can be sued in fed'l court before it acts against a manufacturer. This is another myth that I hope CASAA will address. Greg Conley already clarified this point in the VPlive round table.

While the capacity of humans to "think positive" in a world dominated by saber tooth cats and other nasty critters has undoubtedly served our species well over the evoluntionary millenia, the popularity of these myths and other forms of wishful thinking will only serve to reduce the number of folks we have on board.

I know im in Canada, but personally I help by disputing bad rumors science etc etc, I also love all media tools at my disposal.

Don't know what will happen when the dust settles, but we aren't alone.

If you didn't get the 2 CASAA emails sent last night, check your CASAA profile to be certain you've also checked the box for the "CASAA Member" email list and not just your state. It seems some folks didn't see the instructions to do this on the registration form.
