So it seems like lots of people are saying the vaporesso ccell coils have great flavor and are compatible with a number of tanks. Not my experience at all so I'm looking to you guys for help.

I bought the .5 and the .9 ohm kanthal coils, threw them in my ijust 2 tank, primer pulls, sit 10 minutes, put on the pico, tried anywhere from 20 to 40 watts, and it is the absolute worst dry hit I have ever had. Just terrible.

What am I doing wrong?

I like these coils well enough in my Starre tank.

As stated you need to prime the coil with some juice and even then the best flavor doesn't come on until the second day.

Once done right they last a very long time.

I have since switched to the Ceravape Cerabis for ceramic use and its a vastly better coil. Those coils however cannot be used in any other tank.

Primer pulls as in sucking air through the drip tip without firing the device.
Not a Satisfactory way to Prime any Coil. Only Good for Wetting a Poorly Wicked Build(slow wicking) or Re-wetting when Chain Vaping(already wetted wick)

Saturate Coil Before installation - Know it is as Wet as it will Get.
You Cannot hurt a Coil by over Saturating it(over priming) only by failing to properly Prime(Saturate)

I've only used the NI TC ones, but the basics are the same.

To prime them:

1) using a fine tip bottle or dripper, put in 4-6 drops INSIDE the coil cartridge and let the liquid soak into the cartridge's ceramic, you can do this with the cartridge in the base, or before you put it in, which might prevent leaks from the air vents if you flood it. You want as much liquid to be absorbed, as much as the ceramic will hold.
2) put it it the base, close the tank as normal, close the air vents, and suck 1 or 2 medium pulls without firing the device, but try to not overdo it and flood the tank and end up with flooding coming out of the air vents.
3) wait about 30 seconds to a minute for everything to settle. (hold it upside down for 5 seconds halfway might help a bit)

That should do it... usually, it's recommended to not chain vape for the first dozen pulls or so.

Now about these coils... Loved them at first.. lasted a few weeks, better taste than the originals that I used in my Melo 2. Then, they stopped working as well, found that lots of liquids would gum them up really fast due to all the sweeteners. I'd get about a week's worth, but my wife went through 3 of them in one week.

That's went I started taking them apart and rebuilding them.
28 gauge NI200, about 17 wraps, proper cotton, and they are better than anything out there.

Between the different brands of compatible coil cartridges, I love them, they are well built, easy to rebuild, the double wall to prevent overflow and create a suction to feed and balance the liquid flow is just fantastic. I bought a few more packs to have the shells more than the actual coils... so I'll use them up just to have the shells, which are better that the re-buildables that I've seen for this type of coils (and ends up a LOT cheaper).

I have been using these coils for many months now. You must saturate (even oversaturate) the coil before first use with juice. I then take several primer pulls (yes, this does work IMHO) let it sit for about 10 minutes.

Start out at around 14-15w of power. Move up very slowly from there in 2-5W increments. It does take about a day to break these in but, once they are broken in, they are magnificent for flavor and vapor IMHO

I am not so sure that you should toss the one that you got the burnt taste from. Several of us started using these at the same time. We have all experienced that we have been able to revive these coils even after getting that nasty "burnt" taste from vaping dry ceramic. Just start over as it is a new coil.

BTW- These are also very cleanable by dry burning to clean. I get a few months and even more out of each coil.
