CDC also uses tax money to lobby about issues other than tobacco

There is no such thing as PUBLIC health. We don't and can't control who gets sick, or injured. It amazes me that people have turned to the government to save people from themselves. We all make decisions that affect our lives. Fast food and sugary drinks make you fat. If that isn't what you want, then don't ingest those products.

The only reason this is an issue is because we have allowed the gov't. to socialize health care, and of course its impossible to pay for. As long as Medicare and Obamacare exist, then you'll have gov't telling you what you can and can't do. In the US your free to do what you want, as long as it isn't opening up a fast food restaurant near kids. Are you kidding me? Who works in these places may I ask? Oh yeah teenagers. Then when they can't get a job and start getting into trouble, we can just have the gov't pay for after school activities. I mean its only taxpayer money.

The one thing I've been hearing from both sides of the political spectrum are these gov't audits of particular agencies. Its the elite beaurocrats way of throwing the ignorant masses a bone. Don't fall for it. Audits will expose the tyranny of these organizations like the CDC, but it'll also help these agencies learn new ways around the system. A National repeal of ALL federal gov't agencies is whats needed.

They've been spending all this money for all these years on lobbying or educating as they choose to call it. Yet Americans, especially our children are getting obeser. This generation is so obese that they are not expected to outlive their parents.

The policy makers seem to forget that just like imbalances in the financial budget, there are two approaches to balancing the caloric budget. All their focus is on food.

They forget that they have just about eliminated phsyical education classes and many schools don't hold recess anymore. Furthermore, the load of homework assignments my grandchildren are given in elementary school is absolutely sinful. Kids need to have a minimum of one hour of running around and blowing off steam after school. That's not about to happen if they are given 3 hours (or more) of homework a night.

Plus if you consider how much time kids spend on TV, computers and video games when they do have spare time. Nowadays parents can't just let turn their kids loose outside to play anymore. If you want them to be active you have to sign them up for some sort of sports, and not all kids are athletic. The non athletes don't get any exercise. At least they started making video games a lot more physical now like the Wii and the Xbox.

Speaking of all that homework, that stems from that nonsense of "no child left behind" business which was just a bunch of crock. All they've done is started teaching the kids to take standardized tests. They've held back the creativity of the arts, they don't focus on science or social studies and our kids aren't going to be able to compete in the global market. They teach down to lowest level and hold back the brightest kids. "No child left behind but no child blazing forth either."
