CE2 Clearos. I love these things, imperfect, many need fixing/modding, the tube is flimsy, crap and doesn't last anywhere near as long as the guts, I mod mine as a matter of course to remove the plugs so I can drip-fill them and just seal it with a drip tip as syringe filling gets on my nerves.
They are also the single best atomiser solution I have ever found, for me anyway nothing else I have ever used is fit to hold a candle to them.
I was messing about with Vortex cartos this afternoon and realised on top of all the CE2 Clearos other faults they are ugly as sin. The Vortex pisses rings around it looks wise, although that's all it can do to beat the CE2, it can't compete on performance. (IMO)
I had a rummage around in my drawers (umm), got the tools out and made this, it's a sleeve that's the right length for a plugless CE2 Clearo. It hides the cup in the carto and masks it's hideousness somewhat, it's just a replacement, take off the original tube and push this on, it's a tighter fit too so won't come off unless you want it to.
I think it's the best of both worlds, the looks of a nice steel CE2 and the juice visibility of the Clearo. It's not quite finished yet but close enough..
.
It's easy enough to make, it was made from a gutted steel CE2. The 'windows' were cut away with a Dremel, I then cut to the right length and cleaned up with some wet n dry. The bottom end has been reamed out very slightly to be able to ease it over the seal on the clearo.
I then took the tube off a Vortex which is both sturdier and more elastic than those native to the clearos, stretched the end a bit over a pen tip so the steel tube could fit and then tapped it down with a hammer, the steel tube is inside the plastic Vortex tube.
There was no splitting or warping so I just trimmed off the excess, rounded it off and stuck it on a clearo..
