I am thinking of using evolv's DNA12 to make a new mod and was curious about battery sizes. I was thinking of using a flat cell phone battery since I think it can come up with a better design this way. I already have a Provari so I want a different shape than the traditional tube mod. The data sheet does not specify that it "needs" to be an IMR but it is recommended. Are there IMR cell phone style batteries?
I am looking for one roughly around the 1100mah range since I get an all day vape on my Provari in standard mode with an 18490. I was curious if anyone knows anything about what the smallest sizes available. The smaller the size the better. I tried doing a search on google but it mostly comes up with sites like alibaba and I would rather pick something up more local.
A site that has a listing of sizes per battery would be cool but I doubt one exists, maybe a site that shows phones by physical size?

Skyway,
you can get a general idea of Lipo cell sizes from here:
3.7V Polymer Li-Ion Single Cells

The Darwin doesn't use IMR

True, but talking extensively with Brandon, the kick and DNA require them. If I am not mistaken doesn't the Darwin employ 2 separate cells in parallel which would explain the use of Li Polymer and still meet the current demand of the device?

Lipo battery packs usually have a 10+C rating. What any boost circuit needs is an ample amperage supply. IMR batteries, I think, are in the 8-10C range. mAh x C rating will give the milliamps that the battery can safely deliver. Boost circuits more or less use current to achieve voltages higher than the input.

1000mAh x 10C = 10,000mA = 10A

ETA:
"Regular" li-ion batteries, I believe, have a C rating in the 1.5-3 range; so
1000mAh x 3C = 3000mA = 3A

They need to re-word the spec sheet then. It only states that it is recommended. Personally I would only want to use IMR's but if I can not find a good box to use with a circular battery, I might want to look into a cell phone shaped one instead.

Good site. I would love to find one that you can order just one at time though, lol.
