Hey guys, I just got this great idea, which is what made me want to register and share it with all of you! Got 6 non-spam posts in, but i still cant post in "general" So if a mod wants to move this to the accessories forum...

I just ordered a USB Female to USB mini female from (cant tell u tell i get 15 posts), kinda a hard thing to find . And I'm hoping this is going to allow me to use my mini usb charger for a cell phone and connect it to my USB Passthru for the 510. Mini USBs are quite common for cellphones and pretty much every household i know has at least one. They seem like much more common than ac adapters and car adapters that have usb female. And Computer charging provides way less electricity, which is why i think some ppl have problems with their usb passthroughs. So i think im just gonna leave this badboy on my passthru, and that extra 2ft of wire aint that bad either:thumb:

No, it wasnt from meritline, i thought that was too long for delivery, its from BUY/COM, lol, But yea, I think theyve been bumping up the amps for mini usbs. I use my cellphone charger right now as my usb passthru charger because my cellphone charger was a simple USB female ac adapter, with a USB to mini usb cord. But i kno that adapter (for HTC Rhodium) flows way more power than other ones (like for RAZRs and such), I know blackberry adapters also spit out much more juice, so this might be what u have to look for. I also am wondering if any electricity people know, mini usb 5 pin includes the electricity right? Cause i think my Rhodium is 9 pin but that gots a lot of stuff.

Ok I have the cheapest solution I could find. I got an "apc UPB10". it is a usb battery pack that you use to charge usb devices. Has a 1600mah rating which is plenty over the 1 amp min needed to run a PT. I can vape all day without a charge. I'd say 12 hours easy. Only $21 shipped so its light on the wallet and works perfectly.

not the case .5 amps are enough to charge most devices. The charge time is slower the mah's required to run the passthrough needs a higher peak output.

a USB cable has four wires.....two transfer data and two transfer power....if a USB cable is charging a cell phone it has to at least have the two that transfer power, it may also have the two that transfer data....

Word up Cart, thanks. and damn that sounds smart haft. Another quick question, a lil random about electricity, u guys know if those car chargers for cell phones adapt the power in anyway? I always thought they just ran straight 12v, dunno the amps from the car battery, but i just got a USB car charger, that says 5v, 1A, and even has a lil circuit in it. Would charging the USB at 12v be any problem? Im assuming theres a lot more leeway in a little battery and heating element than a complex circuitboard
