center contact in cap

Can the center contact on the 510 connection be raised more? I'm using cartos and it's like some don't make contact and don't work. I'm afraid if you screw it in too far will it eventually push the center contact down or is it pretty much anchored in one position ?

Does your connector in the cap have a silicone ring in it? If you have the latest connector without the silicone ring, you should screw the carto all the way down, it won't move the connector. I have had no problems with it at all.
