center post turning darker in color, should I be concerned?

Let me start out by saying forgive me if I've overlooked a thread on this. I've been searching and have found no results. I've been vaping for a year now and have been rebuilding for the last 6 months. up until about a month ago I was staying above .5 ohms just because I'm inexperienced and want to play it safe. over the past few weeks I've been running lower ohms. typically about .4, never under .2, on a quasar clone. As the title suggests, I've noticed my center post has been getting darker since trying the lower resistance builds. The insulator looks fine, though it is black and recessed so it's hard to see clearly. So what I'm asking is should I stick to higher resistance builds with this atty? Is the black coloring a sign that it's overheating? Or is this typical of lower resistance builds? Any input is greatly appreciated.

My guess would be that the higher temperature of the sub ohm coil has cause some change to the metal of the center post. Not sure, I don't really sub ohm, but I have seen what you are talking about on a few of my attys when I have sub ohmed.
As far as the sarcastic comment about this place not being very helpful... I'd think no answer is better than bad answers. There are tons of people posting on here all the time so it's difficult to see a thread where no one has posted on fairly recently. It's not that it was a bad question, just no one many have a solid answer for, as you found in your search results.
Hopefully someone will have a better answer on this, as I am curious what it could be as well.

is it the metal turning black or is it a deposit forming on the metal? If the metal is turning black, that could very well be a sign of overheating and chemical decomposition of the juices and electrolisys (sp?) going on... also depends on the metals the + post is made of.... brass will turn darker quicker than SS...
