Oh... That may start to worry some suppliers, too easy to get a little group together to buy from them. Still wouldn't do it personally, too much risk. I prefer to have someone to shout at if things go wrong

this kinda makes me smile.. 500 dollars might still be 500 dollars for americans.. but for us UK dudes its more than what 700 dollars was a couple of months back..
paypal wacked me 1.43 dollars to the pound last f-cking night.. one hell of a difference from 2 dollars to the pound which is what chinese stuff used to cost me..
the dollar minimum price might have dropped but for the rest of the world it aint quite what it seems.. which of course is why the chinese are doing it..
for me 700 dollars was £350 pounds now 500 dollars is £350 pounds.. i would guess australians are pretty much in the same boat..

Communal buying was a feature of our Great Depression. And we all can expect (1) prices to drop as the economy contracts; (2) more communal groups being formed to bulk purchase items and save even more.
Wont you have to pay customs fees? I recently spoke to a dealer in the US and he said on top of shipping, the US customs can hold it until they decide if it is safe, then charge duties.

I emailed the company directly to ask about brokerage fee's but they weren't able to tell me what they would be. It always seems to be a big mystery until any of my internet orders reach the door. I have found by air shipping express to Canada I dodge a lot of fee's.
customs usually dont bother with small packages.. its not cost effective and they dont have the manpower.. most small packages will just get passed straight thru..

I had a lsmall ock dismantling kit from dx get picked up this week. They sent it through complete. I think if it makes jingling noises (nothing was bubbly wrapped) they may pull it open. Or they may have just seen the dx symbol and thought "high powered green laser to shoot at planes."
Yep, the Aussie Peso has dropped ridiculously considering the fact that as a nation we are still in reasonable financial shape compared to other countries. Before the drop, it was A$1 = US$0.95 or so. Now it's dropped to US$0.64
With the current resources boom here (admittedly, the resources boom is starting to show signs of slowing a little), Australian currency should have gained value relative to the US and Europe. Obviously, I'm not an economist.

Nobody buys stuff -> China doesn't produce stuff -> China doesn't buy as many resources -> Australia doesn't sell as many resources -> Australian dollar worthless -> Australians look at melting down their currency -> Australians realise the metals they would extract are also worthless due to step three.
they wont ship any over 5 mw to the US now.. i got my 50 ml green one and 100 ml red one okay... he he
i darnt use the green one from my house it could probably be seen from ten bloody miles away in the dark.

You have no idea how many totally pointless things I have bought from dx the last few years. It's a kind of sickness. You buy it because it's there. You get it, use it for a bit, it then breaks or gets put away somewhere never to get used again.
The 500mW laser looks pretty nasty, though. I haven't bought any of these, but I do know quite a few people point them at aircraft over here - probably dx ones too. They also sell the scopes and mounts to go with them.
When you're done with the green one, ship it to me with my next-gen SD order... (of course with an "enhancement fee"). Be sure to dismantle it and label the envelope as "electronic replacement parts"
I love lasers too...
