Chain Vaping - need help/suggestions

Hi ECF,

I have been vaping for just over a month now and haven't had a single cigarette. My wife has also achieved the same.

I have an EGO-V V2 1200mah battery and an IClear 30S Clearomizer.

During the week at work etc it suits me fine and I don't have any issues with it. Vapor production and throat hit is quite satisfying.

However, on the weekends I like to have a few drinks and when I drink I get the urge to vape a lot more.
When I was smoking I would always chain smoke while drinking.

My problem is that when I chain vape for around 5-6 minutes, the 30S heats up and start producing really crappy vapor and throat hit. I have to wait about 10 minutes for it to cool down before it starts throwing good vapor again.

To combat this problem so far I have just been using my back up clearo which is a T3 Bottom Coil Clearomizer (cheap $5 job) with my backup 650mah EGO battery. I dont understand why but I can chain vape on this thing like crazy and it keeps throwing good vapor until I'm content. The only problem with it is after about 10 minutes it heats up and I can taste plastic slightly. It continues to throw good vapor and I just put up with the plastic taste.

My question is, what is a good clearo that I can chain vape on without it heating up and having to wait before its "useable"again? Also without the plastic taste when it heats up.

I'm prepared to spend up to $50 on a new clearo if I have to.

With my very limited experience on different hardware setups any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers all.

I haven't found any single topper that can take continuous vaping - the wicking device cannot keep up with chain vamping to bring juice to the coil. The 30s has dual coils - more heat.

For chain vaping I use three separate devices. On one I typically have a dripper (IGO-L), another mini pro tank 2 and on the other a kayfun lite.

A tip that might help is slosh around the liquid between hits - tilt it up/down and around to get the liquid faster to coils, also four strong dry hits will force liquid into wicks/coil. Pain in the .... - but only thing I could think of that might help.

Oh just thought of something else - thinner juice also helps allot.

I am not an iclear anything fan -

Hahaha... I had this exact same issue with my 30s. After about 10 mins the clearomizer started to literally taste like vomit. By the way I think it was the silica wick I was tasting. I used a thinner juice and solved my issues until I got into rebuilding. The heavier pg juice made my throat feel dry and what better to combat the dryness than another drink. Cheers!

The easiest and cheapest (free) solution is to take a couple of primer drags every few hits. A couple of short, fast draws without hitting the fire button. It pulls juice into the wick so you avoid dry hits. That's the reason you're getting the bad taste, the wick isn't keeping up with your vape pace. That should solve your issue.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

@ BeRIght - Sloshing the juice around does seem to help a bit, its still not exactly what I'm looking for but it definitely helps so thanks for that.

@ *deleon517* & mail_man_j - I did actually consider mixing up some higher Nic content solutions so ill give that a try this evening once the kids are in bed. I will also mix it up at 70%PG/30%VG to see if a thinner juice helps as well. Currently just been mixing 50%/50%.

@ RoseB - If the above suggestions don't yield the results I'm hoping for then I will be considering moving over to a cartomizer.

Cheers all.

I chain vape all day but I have 4 mods with different toppers I uses each one for like 5/8 mins then switch to a different and I keep round robbing them all day. That's just my way also helps getting burnt out on one flavor I also have 4 extra tanks filled. I don't like the I clear 30 I use glass tanks aero, hyper, IBTanked, aspire bdc.

This does help, though I take only soft pulls as primers, so I don't flood the wick/coil -- but I tend to chain vape when we're watching TV, or out driving around, if I'm not the one driving -- those soft no-fire pulls do help a lot to keep juice in the wick and avoid that awful burned taste. But I use a different clearo, the kanger T3S, so I dunno what the difference would be with yours, soft pulls or short hard pulls -- try it and find out.

However I find that if I take too many drags too often, really puffing like trying to smoke a whole cigarette in a 5 min break, ;) I get a short-term version of the vapor tongue, I stop being able to taste it or feel the throat hit. If I put it down for a few minutes, or eat a chip or a piece of candy, taste/throat hit comes back.

i would try a Kanger aerotank $26 and 2ohm replacement coils. i think anything will get warm chain vaping. a tank setup has alot more metal in the base to absorb the heat. i have rarely felt this tank get above warm. anyway the new airflow base eliminates leakage into the battery. something you don't want to deal with drinking. the dual coil will deliver more vapor than you are currently used to. more juice consumed in short while= more nic delivered in short while. one of two things happen. either you will vape less and be satisfied or continue to chain vape and get bug eyed. consider lowering strength of juice used to chain vape.

if you can wrap wire around a drill bit and pull cotton through. get a kayfun. they are easy to build and a great avenue to explore.

as others have mentioned more than one setup will let one cool while heating another. good luck
