Question for those of you with Odys. If you chain vape does it get hot? I just built a LR dual coil for mine and vaping at 3.7 volts gives me a very warm vape with great throat hit but my ody is almost uncomfortably hot to the touch after about 2 minutes of chain vaping.

I've built the coil 3 different ways now. First I build a single coil LR with two pieces of wick, then I built one just like Imeo did in his video, the 3rd time I built a LR dual coil. Each time I noticed the Ody gets hot to the touch when chain vaping.

For some reason my LR306's with cannon drip tips still seem to produce more vapor as well. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I'm using 100%vg juice too.

Mine can get quite toasty if I chain vape for quite awhile. I actually spend less time vaping since I have been using iAtty and Odysseus. That requires some clarification, it's less time vaping, I still vape the same amount daily (~5mls) Which tells me the density of the vapor is much higher, and apparently more satisfying. Dripping I used to spend all day vaping to get 5mls (that's a lot of damn work!)

My Ody gets warm, but that is likely due to the way I vape it. I tend to chain-vape on it for about 10-15 seconds at a time, never releasing the button that whole time (3.7 volt setup only, 6v setup I do much shorter draws). I find that the vape is the best after the coil has been heating for several seconds already, probably due to something in the way I set it up

That is the same thing I've noticed. It must be the way I build my coils but it doesn't immediately pop and sizzle. Takes 3 sec or so for it to really heat up. Therefore I take longer draws and the whole thing heats up faster.

I'm using the wire which came with my Ody and according to my voltmeter the first coil I built was about 1.7 ohms. This new DC I have not measured. I noticed the same thing with both though.

Hmm, that's strange especially with your single 1.7 coil and the fact that you are using a thinner wire. It should start sizzling as soon as you press the button.

I don't know how to help you troubleshoot that since I don't know what the problem could be (assuming all the contact points and springs on you PV are clean). I'm sure someone else will help you figure it out.

I have an Ody in long mode and one in short mode. Of course the short Ody gets really hot after chain vaping, while the long is only warm at its lower part.

I think it has to do with the wire we use: when I use 0,13 or 0,15mm and chain vape it'll get very hot, when I use 0,20mm not so much.

So if you don't like your Ody hot, maybe you have to go on the long mode or use thicker R wire.

Hopefully my expansion kit will be in sometime this week. Then I will try it in long mode. Thanks.
