I vape...a lot. I vape ultra low or 0 nicotine but i vape often, or continuously :). I have been using vivi nova minis and love them for their ease of use, rebuilding and size. I also DIY and am currently vaping a coil killing mix. they gunk up fast and I rebuild often. (i'm reducing the vg in the next batch to help out)

I'm looking for a tank that has a better lifespan for the wick/coils. I was thinking of a mesh set-up but have never used one before. will a mesh set-up gunk up or burn out slower than a coil/wick?

any advice or info would be helpful.

thanks

in short no, its in a very large part due to the juice, i find myself fiddling with the coils and cleaning on my darker juices, even replacing due to clogs. i use rba
rda, carto tanks, just about all types, plus burning too hot will also not only clog but fuse your wicks, causing less wicking ability due to lack of absorption.

I didn't find that any clearo's were good for chain vaping, they don't wick quick enough for me. Carto tanks worked great for me for quite a while, have you tried them out? I was using Boges in an IBtanked carto tank, the are smoketech DCT tanks that are quite affordable if you want to try it out. Carto's were lasting me 1-2 weeks. I also enjoydripping, and have now moved on to bottom feeders ( the Reo), which I find to work really well for chain vaping. No need to wait for anything to wick, just give the bottle a little squeeze and good to go. I use an RBA on it with a micro coil on my Reo's and it takes about 2 minutes to change the cotton every other day.

i bought a vision v-tox bottom feeder and i like it. it's just not as convenient to fill. I haven't tried the carto tanks yet, but i really like being able to rebuild. i haven't paid a cent on my novas for several months having bought a big spool of wire and a long stand of wick. and being a tightwad, i like that very much!

I don't know what direction i'll go but i thank you for your input

A cartotank might be better for your situation, however a drip atomizer or a bottom feeding box mod like the VMod or Reo would be even more ideal.

Any juice attachment that uses string wicks or a wad of polyfill will eventually clog up and stop working with difficult juices.

A drip atomizer only has a bare coil, no true wicking material to clog. Problem with that is inconvenience: it can only accept a few drops of liquid at a time, and needs to be frequently filled to continue vaping.

A bottom feeder mod uses a built-in juice container which the user presses through a window in the mod to feed juice to the bottom of the atomizer. Therefore you are able to enjoy the benefits of a drip atomizer with the convenience of a tank.

    No you can't
    I do chain vape.

I mix all my juice at 75% PG or higher and use Pro-tank works great wick stays cleaner longer and quick rinse under sink let dry awhile or re-wick it cheap hardly cost anything to re-wick. I use CVS cotton swabs life time supply cost less than $4.00

I started using 75%pg because VG was given me problems my body one day had bad reaction to it until I lowered the VG.

so, this will sound strange but the protank has a metal mouthpiece correct? i've use a tank with one and can't stand it. i don't know why but it really bothered me. in fact, i only used that tank once and stored it in a deep dark hole. is the protank 2 the same way?

No. I don't like them either and the PT2 mouthpiece is removable so you can replace it with a plastic one. Plus the whole tank comes apart for easy cleaning.

I chain vape. I used vivi nova's for a bit, but kept having problems with dry hits. I moved to Kanger Protank II and I'm happy with it.

I think the theory of using a bottom feeder like the Reo and squonking or whatever they call it instead of using a wick makes a lot of sense. Unfortunately, Reo is very expensive, and since I have a tendency to go out dancing and leave my PV on the table while I'm dancing, I can't afford to lose a $300 mod. They are also hard to get, especially the VV woody versions, which is what I would want. And I think they use stacked batteries, which I would prefer to avoid.

The Wood Reo's haven't been made for awhile, but Rob is talking about another run ( I can't wait!). The VV grands use stacked 18350's. The mechanical Grand uses 1 18650, or an 18490 with a kick. The mini 2.1 uses a 18490 or an 18350 with a kick. I

I've read about the Vmod for a less expensive bottom feeder, it doesn't work with as many different RBA's as the Reo, and you need to tilt to feed, but it is a less expensive way to try out bottom fevers that a lot of people enjoy. I have also read about the vision aurora (I think) that screws onto a typical tube mod that works like a bottom feeder.

As for the expensive comment about Reo's, I think where you live affects that. Where I live a 25 pack of smokes is 11-14 dollars depending on the brand. I was spending $110 per week, so a Reo at 144 wasn't expensive to me. 440/month can buy a lot of vaping gear.

I'm not comparing the cost of a Reo to the cost of smoking. I don't smoke. Yes, I spent around $350 a month on cigs back when I did smoke - but I don't smoke, so that's not really relevant.

I'm comparing the cost of losing a Reo (and the atomizer/etc attached to it) if someone takes it off my table to the cost of losing my Vision Spinner/Protank setup. The stuff I'm using now, I'd be out $50 or $60. A VV Reo, I'd be out closer to $250. And I'm pretty sure a thief who has any idea what it is would be more likely to steal the Reo. (This same argument is why I don't have a Provari.) I'd be upping my out-of-pocket if it got stolen, plus upping the risk that someone would bother to steal it.

I could get one for "just at home" or reasonably controlled situations and use my Spinner setup for when I go out to a bar - but that sort of defeats the purpose.

And I'm reasonably happy with what I'm using, so it's hard to justify the expense.

Hmm, i need to start looking into bottom feeder mods. That 2nd one in the bottom row looks sick! :vapor:

That would be my VMod-XL from Vapage. About half the price of a Reo if you want to try a bottom feeder mod less expensively. It has a 9 ml tank inside and the atomizer that Vapage includes with this is top notch. I've been using the original atty for a few months now and only soak it in hot water every couple of weeks to clean it. I use an AW 18650 IMR battery which gives me about 2 days of use.

Vapage has coupon codes every week if you get on their mailer list. I got the above VMod at 30% off, and used the money saved for the custom wood-grained sleeve. That's a Sagewood Glass pyrex drip tip on my VMod.
