Well just to try to clarify a little, removing a flavor wick from your pro-tank may well do the trick. By doing this, you will allow more liquid to get to the coil which should improve the flavor and vapor and allow you to take more vapes in a shorter amount of time with fewer dry hits.
It's free, takes a few seconds and is completely reversible so it's worth a try.

Just be aware that if you remove it, you might start to get gurgling or flooding issues. If you do, just put the wick back and you'll resolve the issue.

As for the igo-l, it's a great little RDA (rebuildable dripping atomizer) but there is a learning curve to it. You can get one for about $12 or so, and it will allow you to drip liquid directly onto the coils (and wicks) and vape. It's actually a bit more 'work' than using a clearo like your PT2, but the vapor and flavor are far, far superior.

I started with an igo-l, and I learnt to build coils using it. A big part of the learning curve is learning about battery safety, building coils, airflow and wicking. I highly recommend you simply stick around on ECF, read some of the forums lower down the page (there is a whole sub-forum all about rebuildables) and just ask if you have any questions or issues.

Everyone here wants you to have a good vape... that's the really awesome thing about this forum.

Maybe in a last attempt to be lazy ill try taking a flavor wick out of the PT2.

Flooding is a real possibility doing that and leaking liquid onto your battery post is almost a certainty, especially with thin liquids (high PG content).

Having said that, I have a PT2 that does well with 100% VG (read thick juice) by removing about half of one of the flavor wicks, not the whole wick. This can be done with tweezers, when the head/wick is wet with liquid, removing a few strands at a time. Depending on how thick the liquid is, you will be able to find how much to remove without ending up with a wet battery post.

I've had my eye on that box for some time now, you'd better not leave it un-attended too long..........
I got an ADT system in my box... so if the alarm goes off, the coppers will be there post haste young man - and you will be in deep kimchi.

Hey DD Robot... here's a little of how and why edumacation on tank type attys, to go with what Shade covered. See, I am not as dumb as... most have suggested.

I already took a flavor wick out of one of my T3s because im pretty low on PT2 heads right now (I only have one lol). It did flood pretty bad. Im using Nicquid mint because its easy. I think Nicquid is something like 70pg30vg (saw that in the forum some place). I also read that post about the ruber gromet. When I get my hands on some tools im going to try cutting that thing. It would also explain why I seem to be having that problem with all my bottom coils. I guess they all have this gromet? I have to figet around to be sure thats what im tasting.
Ill be ordering some more heads asap.

MMMmmm... I believe the T3S heads will fit the ProTank, but not the other way around... haven't tried it myself, just an FYI. :)

Ok so Ive been gone a while but, I did end up buying an IBTanked setup. I got the XL 22mm tank. Black rings and basic tank color. This thing works great. Im using the catomizers they provide in the ordering options and have no issue with their flavor. This is as good as it gets i think. You cant suck it dry and it hold a ton of eliquid to the point i almost wish I had gotten a smaller tank. The only issue I had is that the catomizers connections wont contact the post on the Evic, fortunately I have a handful of adapters already and just used a 50 air spacer to compensate for the poor fit. The best part is not having to follow a crazy confusing obessive compulsize guy on youtube talk about his 18 step method to perfection in filling a carto tank. The "thingy" that comes with IBT setups takes care of that with almost no fuss and flooding is rare. If it flood I just hold it upside down and vape until the filler material absobs the leftovers in the tube.

I only wish IBT was a little less expensive. Their anodized rings are crazy expensive. Which is weird because their tanks arent as expensive as the rings lol.

Depending on size, carto tanks can hold from 3 to as much as 8-9ml... and that's not counting the 1-2ml in the carto itself. A good quality carto can last, depending on the juice and voltage applied, 4-10 or more days.

My one and only PVD is an iTaste vv3.0 that was set up for me with a carto and tank (looks like a Boge tank - it's the only one I've seen that looks exactly like mine) and XL 510 single punched carto that I believe is a single bottom coil...
(I too am a heavy vaper and I am learning 8 cartos later) that it needs to be re-primed on top of the carto after every vape or every other Vape! That seems to be the only way I've been able to keep up my heavy vaping with the carto and tank AND avoid burning out the carto.
I just ordered some double punched cartos to see if two holes keeps the inside material wetter but I'm beginning to believe that heavy vaping requires constant attention when using a carto and tank.
I love my iTaste vv but not loving the constant attention. I can't just prime, insert, vape and go! (I need to call the shop I bought my set up from and find out what brand tank I have and I think the ring between my tank and battery may be an adapter but not sure...).
I've been toying with the idea of trying the iTaste clearo but not sure if that will solve the problems I'm having with heavy vaping on my current set up.
My point here? I'm not so sure a carto and tank is necessarily going to stop the issues that occur with heavy vaping.
Any further input re: solutions for heavy vaping issues are welcome (by me) and needed!

I'm a pretty heavy user, especially during the day. An IBT and carto are by far my preferred topper! With what you are describing, it sounds like it could be a couple of things. But to clarify, does it look dry, or actually taste dry?
If the carto was not fully primed before use, it will dry up and burn quickly. Could also be the seals on the tank are not tight enough, and not holding vacuum. Could also be the need for a second punch, like you mentioned. And lastly, it could be a bum batch of cartos! It happens, and recently!

Do a search for Baditude, and check out his carto blogs. The best info you will find, with graphics and everything! A must view for a carto user IMHO. I vape them all day every day, and its given me the best results of anything I've tried to date. :)

I dont want topers though because, I dont like the idea of a sillica octopus living in my tank, swimming around in the juice.

This slew me, and I'm in the top-coil camp.

Also I havent considered the carto tanks until now because, Im still changing flavors pretty often and Im not sure how difficult that would be with a carto.

My brief experience with carto tanks was disastrous, to say the least. Waaayyyy too much tinkering and fine-tuning for my taste. I'm a 'just-fill-it-up-pick-it-up-and-vape' vaper. Give me an iClear16 any day. :vapor:

Last of all my T3's that I used to love seem to be giving off a milking plastic undertone, much like the flavor of the wick. /QUOTE]

I'm late to the game. But here's my take.

I started with ce4 then ce5 then kanger t3 and then t3s and rbas and rdas. Right now, I'm still using the t3 and t3s even after using the Kay fun.

The "milking plastic undertone" you describe is probably from the scorched grommet at the bottom. Here's a thread you should read.

I've tried the silicon tubings from eBay, albeit from a different seller, and yes it works. Alternatively, you can try to recoil with NR wires for the legs. But it's a pain in the posterior region.

I'm a current fan of the carto/tank system. I've tried so many different clearos and tanks - Vivi Novas, Kangers, Evods, and on and on. Flavor issues, gurgling, dry hits, flooding - yuck!

IBTanked tanks are cheap and high quality, get Borge or Smok cartos and go to town. Simply change the carto when the flavor changes, or it gets too hard to pull, add juice when you see the tank getting low-simple! If you vape a lot and dislike refilling often get a big tank, if you switch juices a lot use a smaller tank. Cartos get tossed every 2-6 days, wash a tank when you like. Buy cartos in bulk for around $0.60 each easily.

In the last 6 weeks I've been doing this (new to me then), zero flooding or leaks of any type, zero dry hits, any taste issues or hard pulls, simply change the carto, sweet and simple - I love it~!

Can get pretty stuff if you like, or simple stuff, or really high-end tanks like from 'ByLeo' By Leo or the SnP tank.

I'm a convert~!

For what it's worth, it's extremely hard for me to get an Aspire head to outright burn, but the downside is that, in my experience, they all had bizarre wicky tastes still making up a component of the vape. It wicked like something insane, as half of the flavor was always there no matter what, but no matter how well it wicked, or how long it sat there and soaked, it would just taste somewhat dry, always. I could drip juice right into the head then vape it, same thing. I blame it more on materials or build. If the issue gets sorted out, it'd be my #1 recommendation for chain vapers. I think I got one true dry hit with just one head after vaping a pure VG juice like 6 times in 10 seconds lol! But low and behold, there's always a taste issue with them.
