This reminds me - a warning to those just receiving your Chalice now!
Several people in the first run found out that the clearance is tight between the posts and the cap!!
Don't leave any wire ends sticking up or out to the side - and even better, CHECK YOUR BUILD ON AN OHM-METER AGAIN AFTER YOU PUT THE CAP ON. It's worth it to prevent a short!

Good advice, I did exactly that, checking on the meter with the middle section attached. I think the safest approach may be to twist the ends off, rather than clipping them, so they break right at the point of pressure, leaving the smallest exposed remnant possible.

Does the new chalice 3 fit on the original catch cup of the reo mini 2.1 without any modifications.

I just received the Chalice III and can confirm that yes it indeed does fit marvelously on the original reo grand catch cup without any modifications but I don't have a mini at this time.

This Chalice III is even SMALLER than I imagined....just bought another after first sight, it is love!:D

Was gonna order two at first but wanted to confirm that it fit on my original grand, it does, I'm good and it's love!

think he means base to cap threads, if so then no way, the cap fit and threading is so precise that it makes an air tight seal with no o-ring

yes, that's what I meant, turbo. I wrapped and installed a 30g 1.38ohm atty on it and it's vaping like a champ. This thing rocks....though I'd rather have phillips head and slotted. My two cents on the post screws. Very Happy with this. photos coming, cause what's a thread without photos, eh.

Here's a shot to help get an idea of how small this really is and it also shows the components. The base is on a penny and that is a mini's 3ml bottle on the top.

In the middle under the full Chalice shows how the air flow works, air comes in the three 90 degree holes in the AFC ring, that then line up with the 3 holes in the top cap (shown in the middle). the inside of the top cap has a 2nd wall with a single 2mm hole that channels the air from the three holes to the coil.

OK it's time to give the Chalice III another go after really disappointing results so far. I have done a bit of research (asked questions in the REO ECF section ;-) ) and it appears that the coil needs to be higher up and away from the edge which is totally opposite to the Cyclone. OK this is a LOT better and that gurgling has gone and the flavour is now there.

Yes it's a hundred times better than it was and yes it's a most beautiful atty and the quality is out of this world. But is it that much better than an RM2 or Cyclone? I don't think so... personally I actually prefer the Cyclone slightly if I'm brutally honest! But now that I have it working lets see how I feel after a day or two.

I have held back from a purchase. Other than the air flow, I wondered how it differed from the RM2. I like the taste of the stuff I brew and if there is little difference I am not sure the great look would be worth the price for me since I have two RM2's. It is a good looking little atomizer.

My honest opinion is it's not worth it. If you are happy with the RM2 then try and get a Cyclone... same if not better flavour than the RM2 and looks much better.

I eventually gave up on the Chalice III and sold it... the chap who bought it is very happy with it but I just never got a decent vape from it ever.

The RM2 and RM3 are great little atty's, what I started with, still have 7-8 of them, 3 of them still in service with enlarged air intakes on Mini Woodvil's and the VVG. The Cyclones were a step up, the Chalice atty's are a step up from them in quality. I like my Chalice II (that I paid way more for than the Chalice III's), but it's not liked as much as the Chalice III's because of their air flow that works better for my long lung hits and require less slipstreaming than I have to do with the Chalice II. If I could get to my drill press in storage, I'd drill the C II out. Best small atty's for my LLH's are still the Cyclones... because both were bought used and both came with monster air intakes already drilled out. But all of them can produce massive flavor rich vapor, and they all easily do it better than any of my 22mm atty's. The Nuppin's bridge the gap as my only mid size atty's I truly like (unlike many that like the RM4 I don't like my Atomic much). I get plenty of flavor rich vapor out of them. The RM2's & RM3's are easily worth what they cost, so were the Cyclones to me, but so are the Chalice atty's now. So there are great atty's available for every budget. Truth be known, I like my small footprint atty's better than all those that are larger. Many of the larger I have I don't use at all because of that fact, or they are constant leakers or because they can't even come close to delivering the flavor I want. YMMV
