Ok thanks! I read not to screw down the screws tight so maybe wrong info. Plus I need to get a dang small Phillips screw driver. But seriously, even at 1.3Ω I am blown away at the flavor and warm vape. This was the perfect, exact size chamber I was looking for.

Also, trying not to chain vape...but it's so good. Does the Chalice get warm to the touch for anyone when vaping? Just wanna make sure that I'm not going nuts.

it does get warm because it's so compact but it also cools pretty quickly because there's so little mass to retain the heat. a bigger atty may take a little longer to warm up but will then stay warm a lot longer. the 3 runs a little cooler than the 2 I think because of the airflow between the walls helps cool it a bit too

rotate you next coil slightly counter clockwise to shorten the legs and thus lower the ohms. if you have good connections the only thing that effects the ohms of the coil is total length of wire from post to post.

Ok will try that for sure next time. But this vape is excellent so I know once I get the ohms right, it's just going to get better. Thanks to everyone who suggested the Chalice and helped me out. This is crazy good.

tighten those screws down, you might not have solid connections.

Crap! Ok. And one of my legs look long too. I swore I read someone said to not tighten the screws down cuz I could snap the wire. UGH.

I think they were comparing it the classic post and screw that are easy to snap. because this uses the screw threads compressing the wire against the side of the bore to hold it together I've never had a problem with it and prefer it to the classic post/screw design.

EDIT: The older screw design, multiple groves in the screw, where easier to break the top of the screw, Russ had that problem

the chalice is less likely to cut the wire than most other atties you can snug them down pretty well

Fellow Reonauts I need some help with this Chalice III... the initial excitement of actually getting one has worn off now and I have yet to get a decent vape from it despite it supposed to be being the best in the world....

I have rebuilt my 28g micro coil three times (1,5mm diameter betwen 6 and 8 wraps) and wick with Rayon... yes the flavour is OK but not great... and I'm getting gurgling like no ones business! I took the Chalice III off the REO a week ago and it's been sitting in my drawer ever since.

I love my Cyclones (and use the Cyclops when I want airflow) and I haven't manged to get a vape as good as the cyclone let alone better than!

I will attempt another rebuild today and the only advice I have seen is to move the coil up as opposed to on the edge and right down like the cyclone likes it.

Place the coil back away from the air hole more in the center of the deck and up even with the post nuts. Here's where I have mine. Keep playing with placement, a 1 mm change can have a dramatic effect.

Also study where the hole is in the inside of the cap, you want to make sure it is up when vaping. So yes you still need to worry about air hole placement when mounting this on the Reo. If I over squonk I will get some gurgling but it clears after a few hits.

looking across my 9 Reos they have 5 Chalices(3 IIs and 2 IIIs), 3 Nuppins and a Divo on them. Nuppin is 2nd behind the chalice on my favorites list.

I sent my divo to my friend for Christmas without ever using it. She does not have a nuppin or chalice, and I wanted her to experience a great vape on a reo. Should I get another FB?

They are third on my list, They have a tiny chamber produce great flavor. So they are a great vape, but if you have Chalices and Nuppins those are better. If you need another RBA and want variety yes get one, if you can, I think they hard to find.

On the other hand if you can spare the coin and want a slight better vape get another Nuppin or Chalice.

ADDIT: In Feb I'll get another Chalice III or two. Then the Divo will move to the backup draw, unless I add a few Mechanical Woodvils, then I'll need to press it into service.

I found I had to get the right juice for my chalice to see it shine. It seems to bring out the subtleties of more complex flavours; that is, it doesn't overpower with punch-in-the-mouth flavour, but rather delivers broad spectrum flavour. It's 'classical', not 'rock & roll'.
