Just thinking out loud.... at 500mA and 5V and 1h the capacity would be 2.5Wh or 9000F, which is not impossible, but to charge that in 1min you would have to pump 30amps into that poor little thing, which would burn up the mini capacitors... so I have a feeling that thing would be too big ....

I respectfully decline the challenge ....:D

Not with anything I'm going to stick in my pocket. Or be within several feet of, actually.

No wonder you wont make one yourself, I currently have 10 fingers, and would like to keep it that way....:D

I made a monster amplifer once that took 450v 400uF caps...a bank of 10 of them. This was for the high voltage DC circuit, and was fed with a reverse wired dry pole transformer.
@3500v the transformer was staring face first into what amounted to a dead short..and frequently threw a double 60A breaker when fired up..so I was forced to improvise a "step-start" to bump the transformer with 110 then go ahead and apply the 220v...giving the caps an initial starter charge to avoid the "caps are a dead short when empty" issue.

Yeah, you'd draw a few amps initially staring face first into that whopper capacitor bank...I'll pass on that challenge LOL

Hmmm. I can see why you brought this to the table. It runs at 5.4 volts, charges in 90 seconds but discharges nearly as quick. Anybody modding this thing would have to mod a PCC equivalent with it. =)

Interesting technology though. I could see a hybrid in the future. Cap/LI-Ion kinda thing. Except, of course, caps are known to blow up. So, it's a Cap mod, a PCC, a hybrid and a face shield combo project. LOL

Pass. =)

I'll build it for you if you like - I'll need an advance payment of €50,000 to cover the cost of the capacitors and charger, €10,000 for additional life insurance and €100 for diapers.
Final cost €100,000 payable in advance of delivery. 24 hour warranty won't be valid if anyone goes within 3 feet of it.

the future! is here...they got 10 on e-bay for 45$.

followed alot of toolblog...very interesting and i think my head going to explode hehehe,
but 5vdc...with heavy walled vented away, lite weight, bxed or tubed 90 sec. recharge e-cig
along those lines i read a book awhile back: "redlined" scify military mission on other planet and they had electric Grenades...

ah maybe Ralph Hilton has the right price...

i`m thinking this is a short time away imo the powerpad does a charge because of making a complete circut using the way a transformer works, laying ur device on the pad is the second part of a transformer( simple: wires around metal<heat> next to wires around other metal piece with leads to get inducted power) and with the greening of the world, low power batterys and quick charging will become more prevalent...
not that i know anything.
